The Vista Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Patong

We had read lots of good reviews on this restaurant so decided to give it a go but the food and service was somewhat underwhelming.

The restaurant was really busy and a moody waitress pointed at table for us to sit at without saying anything to us, we were told that we could move to the roof terrace by another waitress who was a bit more friendly and the atmosphere up on the roof was more relaxed and chilled which was nicer than the busyness of the restaurant downstairs.

Despite the nice views and setting of the roof terrace we were disappointed further by the food and service.

I ordered a beer which was fine but my girlfriend ordered a fresh lemon juice with soda. When it arrived, it wasn’t even slightly fizzy which made us think they had forgotten the soda water. When we asked for more soda water it came back with the same taste which we then realised the soda water they were mixing in was completely flat.

We ordered bruschetta to share for our starter which was unauthentic and lacked freshness, in addition to this it came out at the same time as my Thai stir fried basil main course which was also distinctly average.

My girlfriend ordered a Hawaiian pizza which came out around 20 minutes after the other food and I had already finished. With it being an Italian restaurant we thought the pizza would be a safe option but it turned out to be worst of the 3 things we ordered. The base was soggy and all toppings just fell off and tasted processed rather than fresh.

I’m sure there are better Italian restaurants in Patong to try...

Unfortunately, my experience with the Fornarina was less than stellar. The dish was dry, flavorless, and exceptionally crunchy, almost resembling a cracker. This deviation from the expected texture and taste was disappointing and impacted the overall satisfaction with the meal.

La Vista Restaurant shines in the breakfast department but falls short in achieving the desired texture for pasta and lacks diversity in vegetarian options. The Fornarina, in particular, left much to be desired, emphasizing the need for improvement in certain aspects of the dining experience.

The view of Patong’s vibrant skyline, paired with a cozy and elegant ambiance, creates the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening.

We were lucky enough to visit during a fireworks display, which added a magical touch to the night. The staff were warm, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing experience.

The food was outstanding. We started with a creamy mushroom soup and perfectly grilled shrimp—both bursting with flavor. The lamb chops was tender and beautifully seasoned, paired with buttery mashed potatoes, and lobster phuket was Divine and cooked to perfection. Every dish was well-prepared and thoughtfully presented.

For dessert, the tiramisu and panna cotta were absolute highlights. The tiramisu was rich and indulgent, while the panna cotta was light, silky, and perfectly balanced with its fruity topping. The cocktails were also fantastic—well-crafted and reasonably priced.

What makes The Vista even more impressive is its great value. Despite the luxurious rooftop setting and high-quality food, the prices were very reasonable.
