Our recent endeavour with Phuket Indian Restaurant started off with some nice pleasantries from the owner, Banti, who approached us, with words of encouragement. Even stating that if we didn’t enjoy the food, we would not be charged.
Filled with hope, and four individual efforts of persuasion from the owner (some would say, border lining desperation) we decided to embark on the culinary journey that is indian food in a foreign country. (we were aware of the risks going in)
To start off, the service was excellent, drinks were offered and a reminder of the terms of our dining (refund) was discussed. We ordered two Salted Lassis, (which were watery and far from salted) and a Mango Lassi( this pleased our palettes).
Now came ordering the mains. To preface, the menu offers a plethora of options with foods from many different regions.
We ordered Garlic naan (which was as thin and hard as a straw hat) and Aloo Paratha (which was doughy, undercooked and had not a trace of aloo). The two main dishes we ordered did not disappoint as much as the rest of the experience. They consisted of a Paneer Tawa and a Kofta Masala. Both had a good flavour profile were sizeable.
We offered our feedback to Bunty upon after being prompted to. Our criticism was offered in a constructive way, however he proceeded to make excuses as to why the food was good, and how we were wrong.
We let him know that the garlic naan was more similar to a cracker than a fluffy naan, to which he retorted verbatim “ no brother, it should be nice and hard. That is how people like it” to which he furthered “this way, you can really taste the freshness of the garlic”
Comments were given regarding the quality of the Aloo Paratha. This feedback was also met with excuses. Banti explaining to us that because we ordered so much food, (i.e. 2 mains and three naans) he felt obligated to make it, even though he claimed he normally doesn’t offer it (despite it being on the menu). Further mentioning that his brother is not familiar on the process of making Paratha.
He did however, refund us for all but one of the garlic naans, and removed the Aloo Paratha from the bill. Props for maintaining integrity.
Now you may be wondering to yourself as you are reading this. “ why would anyone go to such great lengths to write this detailed of a review?” to which i answer.

Read moreBeware this place runs a customer calling scam. We've went there after reading the reviews which clearly turned out fake and bribed for, the photos of the reviews are fake and the content is even more fake, when you go there you'll meet few illiterate staff at the door, dirty dishes and dirt all over, the manager which turned out to be the only person who works at the restaurant will try to please you with pretentious comments and would try to be "few nice", we've ordered very basic and classic Indian dishes which we know very well, what we have been served after more than an hour waiting time was a watered down curries with dominant red and yellow colours no flavor, we were really shocked on how low you can go with pretending to have such spices in a dish, never ever we have been served such disgusting dishes at any place across the earth, and when we have faced the only guy who was running the show and serving us he have said that sorry we have been experiencing problems in the kitchen but here is a free tea offer for you. So pathetic, this place is targeting costumers who's staying at the nearby Hotel and looking towards bangla nightlife with its fake contents and then pretends to serve Indian food, if we had more time we would have reported it to the tourist police due to its dirty dishes and overall lack of hygiene and we wish that future unfortunate customers would do report it. Completely avoid. pros: near to the walking street cons: you will get some health issues so you are intelligent, because this place is focosed on its own profit and no one will take care of you if you will get seriously injured after having dirty food staff: staff is very friendly staff behavior: very sweet like sugar poison goal:...
Read moreCheating, Scam, and Total Fraud – This Restaurant Should Be Investigated ,I have never seen such a high-level scam in my entire life as what is happening at this so-called restaurant. Everything about this place screams cheating and fraud. From the fake, overly edited photos to the misleading menu and false promises, every customer is being deceived in one way or another. The photos you see online? Don’t believe them for a second! Once you visit, you’ll realize how cleverly these people have manipulated images and created a fake impression to lure innocent people. It is extremely shameful how they operate. Not only do they charge premium prices for stale and unhealthy food, but they also treat genuine complaints with arrogance and disrespect. Hundreds of tourists and locals are falling victim to this cheating racket every week. Why has the Thai government not taken action till now? Why is such open fraud happening under everyone’s nose? There are countless cases of people falling sick after eating here, and still, no one is alerting the authorities. I strongly urge everyone to stay away from this scam restaurant and to report them wherever possible. We need to raise our voices and protect others from falling into this trap. If you care about your health and your money, avoid this place at all costs. This is a big question for the authorities: why are such criminal activities being ignored? Why is no one informing the government about this? It is time to stop such fraudulent businesses and protect honest people from getting cheated. Beware – Don’t fall for their tricks, and please report such scams to the proper authorities...
