Patong Lobster Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Patong

I'm not a native English speaker but had to write this down with a translator to help people avoid it. This was the worst place I've had in Thailand and I don't know why it's rated so high. Firstly the salt grilled fish was not fresh, despite being close to the sea and the seafood market, what was even more disappointing was the way the fish was prepared, it was not scaled and was directly wrapped in salt and grilled, which meant that you either ate the scales or a lump of salt when you ate the fish, the fish's entrails were not processed so half of the fish was contaminated and bitter. This fish was not fresh and tasted bad and cost 400 baht. Secondly the Tom Yum Goong was also not good, it only had 4 shrimps and stiff squid, as other reviews have said the squid was very bad. Finally the oysters were very small but cost 80 baht each. During the time I ate there were always more staff than customers even though it was lunch time, although the staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately we had the worse experience possible. The place is a scam house. The place ran a scam on us by selling us a set menu for two and then substituting the offering with cheaper lookalikes or half the promise amount. 900g Lobster was replaced with 300g 2 tiger prawns replaced with fresh water yabbies/shrimps, snapper replaced with sea bass and two king prawns not delivered at all. They conceded their offering was not what was delivered and said I should have sent it back rather than argue with the poor embarrassed waiter about the disappointment and disgust when it was served. Had him tell us yabbies are worth more than tiger prawns (yuk) Offered a 500thb discount on a 2700thb bill despite the serving being less than half the offering.
