The Place Phuket — Restaurant in Patong

A gem of a bar & restaurant we only just discovered on Patong Beach Road. We visited based on excellent Google reviews. You can choose to sit at ground level or upstairs, which we decided to do to take in the beach views. As a couple we shared a Nautilus pizza, French fries and ordered chocolate terrine for dessert. We each had a cocktail also. The pizza was a generous size and full of flavour, the seafood was fresh and the salmon in particular was the highlight, first time for both of us having salmon on a pizza and it worked. The French fries were the best we have had in Patong, a must try if you are here. The dessert was a little too sweet for us, would have been better served with some vanilla ice cream or a big dollop of fresh cream but chocolate lovers with a sweet tooth will love it. Our cocktails were both excellent, good strength and well balanced. Considering the prime location prices were reasonable. Our pizza, fries, dessert, two cocktails and one fruit juice came to 1200 baht. Major cards are accepted. We stumbled upon The Place Restaurant in Patong on a rainy Saturday evening, mainly because it was the only spot that could accommodate our party of 16. Given the weather and the weekend rush, we were just grateful to find a table.

I usually avoid international cuisine when traveling, but I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was excellent—fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavor. The chicken skewers were equally impressive, tender and well-seasoned. What stood out even more was the pricing—remarkably reasonable for the quality of food we received.

Super glad we found this place. It really is worth all the good reviews. 99b cocktails that were pretty good, not super strong but can’t complain for 99baht. I got the goat cheese and ham salad. So. Much. Goat. Cheese! I was very happy. Only complaint is that the salad was dressed in oil and if it was dressed more in balsamic vinegar or a different dressing it would have been the perfect salad. But I couldn’t finish it because it was just sitting in oil. My partner got the fish and chips that were just about right. Fish definitely could have been juicier but chips were nice.
