We were staying in Demiray hotel which is located in the same building. Our stay included free buffet breakfasts in Eva Bisphorus Restaurant. We decided to try dinner there as it was advertised at the hotel entrance and there was a pamphlet in the room.
My partner ordered the chicken schnitzel dish. They got it wrong and broght a chicken kebap stead. It had to be sent back to the kitchen and replaced. I ordered lamb chops. On the menu it says they come with mushrooms and mashed potatoes, glazed carrot and pomegranate sauce. When they brought the dish there was no mashed potatoes but rice and potatoe wedges instead. No mushrooms, no carrot. I showed the waiter their menu and told them my order was wrong. I said there was no rice mentioned in the dish and I don't want rice. The dish was taken away.
When it arrived back it was still not what they said on the menu. It was the same dish they took back but they added some mash and removed the wedges. Still with rice. I asked again where are the mushrooms, pomegranate sauce, etc asking to read their own menu.
I was told by the waiter that they had no mushrooms and if they don't have the ingredients on the menu they replace them with what they have. What??? They should have told me when I ordered that they didn't have something and asked if they could replace it. It's supposed to be a quality restaurant in a 4 star hotel. You don't just bring to your customers whatever you have!
I was hungry by then so just ate the lamb. The mashed potatoe was powdery and tasted like they just made it from instant dry potatoe flakes. The lamb was cold. I didn't enjoy my meal. I tried a bit of my partner's chicken schnitzel and it was rubbery.
What I also found unpleasant that the waiters never asked if we enjoyed our food. In fact, after changing my meal after the complaint they just avoided our table. Never offered us desserts or tea either. Just expected us to pay the bill for this unpleasant dinner experience and leave.
There is a wonderful view over the city from the rooftop but that's it. The food isn't good, you don't get what's on the menu and the service isn't nice. Better go somewhere else. There are many other restaurants around, including ones with a...
Read moreFrom the restaurant's terrace, you can overlook the entire Bay Area while you enjoy your meal. This makes it the perfect spot for great pictures. It is not our first time in Istanbul, but it is our first time spending an entire week here. So, come and visit this spot if you want to see how immense Istanbul really is.
The ambiance at the restaurant is very pleasant. Music is playing all the time, but it only adds to the atmosphere and it is never so loud that you couldn't have a conversation.
The breakfast buffet has much to offer: fresh fruits, salads, and vegetables, as well as eggs, cheese, and many other Turkish specialties. Whether you prefer a cold or hot breakfast, I am sure you will find the right combination for your breakfast. An absolute delight.
The staff is super friendly, even if some of them don't speak English or just a few words. They will always do their best to accommodate you and fulfill any wishes and requests you may have, given that they are within reason, of course. Especially Efe was super attentive and always looking to provide good service to make us feel as comfortable as possible. If we come back again, we would for sure...
Read moreOur encounters with a female staff member sporting a nose ring at the hotel restaurant were frustrating enough to ruin our dining experience. This server consistently mishandled our orders, glaringly mistaking basic dishes like confusing hummus with an eggplant dish, which she stubbornly insisted was correct despite obvious differences. Her approach was dismissive, and she lacked the courtesy to apologize or rectify her errors. Even simple requests like a complete salad order or accompanying gelato with our desserts were bungled. The desserts arrived late, by which time our teas had gone cold, and the promised gelato was an afterthought—a tiny, unappealing scoop that seemed more of an insult than a treat. Her pervasive lack of professionalism and carelessness not only spoiled our meals but also compelled us to cancel a special birthday dinner and seek better establishments. Despite the convenience of dining in, beautiful views, and good food, such dismal service is inexcusable and forced us to...
