They bring the sugarcane from Egypt so GO for the sugarcane juice!

As for the Kunafah read teh rest of my review.

The 4 stars is an average between 5 stars for the Sugarcane juice and 2.5 stars for the Kunafa / Künefe.

Maybe it was not fair to rate their Kunafa just few days after trying Assahl Alakhdar and Habiba kunfa in Jordan, but since I have to stop cheating my sugar free diet this week, I had to try this.

So I went for the Nabulseih/Naama version and it did not impress me to say the least.

In kunafah, cheese is the single most important ingredient, followed by technique, followed by the ghee mixture and finally the syrup with a hint of ghee in it.

I can tell you that the cheeses is not the Baladi & Mashmoolah kind. Most probably it is Hatay künefe cheese and it is completely different. Hatay cheese tend to be sour and more dens. It is considered an attribute for the Hatay cheese to be elastic while hot and extend itself like mozzarella cheese, and this is OK when it comes to Hatay's / Turkish version of Künefe. But this cheese must stay as far away as possible from the Palestinian Nabelsieh Kunafah... as faaaaar as possible.

As for the technique, the Naama crust was made from a more wit mixture of kunafah strings and butter and coloring. For this reason the surface crumbled and I could see clumbs on it and no crust or toasted crunchy bits at all.

I also ordered the Namoora as I have tried this Gazan sweet way back 8n time and I wanted to remind myself of it. It was too sweet, too dins and the spices overpowered the needed balance.

So do I recommend their Kunafah, not really confident, but i know that many of you Istanbul did not eat this type of Kunafah in years, so this review must not stop you from trying, food is not only about taste, there is a big psychological factor which can fill in for the rest of the...

Quite simply the best kunefe and some of the best soul food I’ve had in Istanbul or worldwide.

We got here by chance right after landing, and all the kunefe we’ve had in the meantime was underwhelming compared to this, so we had to return.

Neblus Kunafa is the original, and their Madluka is to die for as well. The textures, sweetness, freshness are all perfect.

Their coffee is cardamom infused, and their juices and shakes are also super tasty.

As a guide, kunefe rule no. 1 we figured out in the meantime: ONLY have kunefe in shops specialised in it and pushing it out in large oval plates in bulk....
