Visited in July 2025. Turkey 🇹🇷 Istanbul.

This cozy restaurant has become a must-visit for us on every trip to Istanbul, a cherished ritual we never skip. Tucked into a modest space, it shines brightest on its charming outdoor terrace, where we love to linger and soak in the city’s vibrant energy.

FOOD:

Specializing in Turkish cuisine with a focus on meat, this spot delivers hearty, flavorful dishes. We always gravitate toward the kebabs—our go-to is the pistachio-studded variety, though the Urfa and Adana kebabs consistently impress with their juicy texture and bold, meaty flavor, carrying just the right touch of richness. The lamb chops are another standout, expertly prepared with no tough sinews or off-putting gaminess, showcasing the kitchen’s skill in handling meat. Don’t miss their pilav, made from pearl barley—an unexpectedly delightful side that might just be the best grain dish I’ve encountered. Its deep, spiced flavor hints at a meaty broth base, elevating every meat dish it accompanies.

SERVICE:

The service is reliably warm, with attentive waitstaff ready to guide you through the menu with ease. A thoughtful touch comes at the end of the meal: a complimentary serving of tea paired with baklava and ice cream, which adds a sweet note to the experience. Dishes arrive promptly, keeping the meal seamless.

VERDICT: I recommend stopping by this restaurant at least once for a taste of its dependable, high-quality fare. While the prices may run slightly higher than Istanbul’s average—perhaps unsurprising given their Michelin star—you’re paying for consistency. Visit after visit, you can trust you’ll leave satisfied, making it a solid choice in a city brimming with...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming Khorasani Restaurant in Sultanahmet, and it's an experience I'll cherish forever. This hidden gem exudes an air of elegance while offering a warm and inviting family home atmosphere. As soon as I stepped in, I knew I was in for a treat.

Khorasani Restaurant's ambiance is simply delightful; it strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. The decor, with its subtle hints of Turkish culture, adds a unique touch to the overall experience.

But, of course, it's the food that stole the show and etched unforgettable memories in my heart. The cuisine here is nothing short of divine. The Ali Nazik Kebab, in particular, left me speechless. The moment I took my first bite of this signature dish, I knew I had stumbled upon something extraordinary.

What made this experience truly exceptional was the staff's hospitality. They treated us like cherished guests, and their genuine warmth made us feel right at home. It's evident that they take pride in delivering exceptional service and ensuring that each customer feels special.

Whether you're a local or a visitor, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. It's the perfect place to create beautiful memories with your loved ones or to enjoy a delightful solo meal. I can't wait to return and savor their culinary wonders once more.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Sultanahmet, do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this culinary treasure. Your taste buds and your heart...

My recent experience at Khorasani Restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite arriving after closing time, the staff graciously accommodated us and ensured we had a fantastic time.

The ambiance was inviting, and the staff’s hospitality was truly remarkable. They welcomed us warmly and made sure we felt right at home. We opted for some drinks and their delicious pizza, which surpassed our expectations. The flavors were exquisite, and the quality was top-notch.

What impressed me the most was their willingness to go the extra mile even after official closing hours. The team’s dedication to ensuring their patrons have a wonderful experience speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction.

Khorasani Restaurant isn’t just about great food; it’s about creating memorable moments. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

A huge thank you to the staff for making our visit after hours so enjoyable. I can’t wait to return for another delightful experience!

By far the worst and most overpriced meal we had in our two week Türkiye trip. We ordered the musakka and stuffed calamari. The musakka was 600 TRY and the stuffed calamari was around 950 TRY. The stuffed calamari was advertised on the menu as being stuffed with mussels which I think justifies the high price but what I got was markedly different. Instead of being stuffed with mussels it was stuffed with vegetables, fish and some shrimp. Not a mussel in sight. It was also pretty bland. Definitely not worth 950 TRY! I felt so ripped off. The musakka was awful, the worst musakka I’ve ever had. We had excellent Turkish musakka in Selcuk earlier in our trip for a fraction of the price. This musakka was bland, watery and tasted like a sad casserole with rubbery over cooked beef. I have no idea why it’s in the Michelin guide. This place is an overpriced tourist trap. No idea why the reviews are glowing either - I think they’re mostly from tourists who haven’t eaten outside of Sultanahmet. The best thing about the meal was the complimentary tea and baklava.

The dishes are delicious but not worth the money. We got the seafood platter, which was 2,000 lira (€100). Ridiculous, we know, but we wanted to see if the Michelin guide mention was worth it. Some of it was and some of it really wasn't. The calamari was super fresh and buttery, but there are only two large pieces. The octopus legs and shrimp were giant but less tender than the calamari. The salmon was good but my boyfriend can pan sear it better 😎 There was a white flaky fish that was ok. But there was a chunk of mackerel that was so rubbery it was inedible (I took it to go to feed the stray cats who came running but even they didn't eat it 🐈🐟) Salad could also benefit from being cut up and a dressing; the only seasoning was lemon juice and salt.. Also the ayran (90 lira / €4.50) was large but they just pour it out of a giant plastic jug. And unlike Michelin star restaurants or other restaurants in Istanbul, there wasn't anything complimentary at end of the meal to soften the feeling of falling into a tourist trap 💁🏻‍♀️
