B'S GOOGLE FOOD REVIEW ♡ Location : CAfe is located in the lanes, you defiantly need a map to get there but when you do it isn't hard to find. Customer Service: The day I went it was a little busy and only 1 waitress , I did get my drink late but I can understand & it was delicious so I let it slide. Vibe: The cafe is super cute, decor is minimal but very nice . The cutlery they use is very rustic & artisanal ?. Food: Latte was very nice and hot. I orderd yogurt granola bowl with fruits and chia seeds, fried meat and scrambled eggs that was lile lovely fluffy bread & a turkish tea. The granola bowl was very nice and all natural cant fault it . The scrambled eggs with fried meat was unreal the flavours was bursting with that meat its a must people ! The only thing i will critise is it ended I wish the portions was larger ! Haha

Great spot in the centre of Istanbul for local Turkish food, not the typical tourist spot, given the location. You can tell it’s a family run place and they have 2 restaurants side by side working together. One is more of a brunch spot and the other serving pide, kebab and baklava. We went here 4 times and twice in the same day! It’s quite hard to find descent local food for the price in this area of Istanbul. The menemen is a must for breakfast. We tried other restaurants in the area but they were significantly more expensive and felt like tourist traps. This is more of an authentic place. We have tried the menneman, Turkish breakfast, pide and the baklava and we can recommend all of it! Breakfast can be around 10 pounds per person with a drink, whereas other places are charging 16 pounds.

After all the hustle bustle of Sultanahmet and the crazy crowds and the waiters of restaurants beckoning at you, Poika was a relief for me because of its quiet atmosphere, its friendly staff who let you order on your own time, at your own pace, without being pushy, and who always smiled as they took your order. It wasn't crowded all the times I went there (I visited the place 4 times during my week-long stay at Istanbul). The coffee, the sahlep, the sandwiches (I had the tuna and the cottage cheese varieties) were very good, and the chocolate milkshake was sinfully fantastic - rich, thick, smooth, with a very generous topping of cream sprinkled with chocolate chips.

I LOVE this place! Great for working on your laptop or hanging out. The decor is beyond cute and the coffee is delicious and strong! I first tried the creme brûlée latte iced and then the nutty caramel mocha iced which became my favorite. I used to come everyday while I was in Istanbul and I’ve stayed all day when I needed WiFi. On those long days, I would try their sandwiches which were good, not great. I tried the Poika toast which was okay. It was a little bland to me. Another time I tried the tuna sandwich and that was better. They both came with a small salad on the plate which was a nice touch. I knocked off a star because the staff isn’t too friendly, or at least they don’t try to be considering I have gone all the time and they don’t try to chat. I’ve met friendlier staff at other places. Also, one time the take away coffee was awful. The girl made me a hot latte and added a few cubes of ice so I had to drink lukewarm coffee. Kinda gross. Don’t get take away. That’s why now I have to sit down and drink the coffee before I leave. Another thing I don’t like is they overcharge me sometimes. The price is listed as 22TL and sometimes they’ll charge me that but a couple times I was charged 26TL which isn’t that much but I think it’s weird. Every time I go, they don’t show me receipt, they just tell me the price so I didn’t realize it til recently that pricing has been inconsistent. Either way, it is a good spot! The special flavors are worth it and get it iced!! They make it look so pretty. Super cute, solid spot for coffee. It’s the best...

Poiká Breakfast & Coffee: A Balanced Review

Pros Ambiance: Poiká Breakfast & Coffee offers a cozy and stylish setting, perfect for a relaxed morning or an afternoon coffee break. The decor is modern and inviting. Quality: The food is fresh and flavorful, with a variety of breakfast options ranging from classic dishes to innovative creations. Their coffee is also top-notch. Service: The staff are friendly and attentive, providing prompt service with a smile. Portions: Generous portion sizes ensure you leave satisfied.

Cons Price: The prices are on the higher side for breakfast items, which may not suit all budgets. Wait Times: During peak hours, the wait can be quite long, both for seating and for receiving your order. Noise Level: The popularity of the place means it can get quite noisy, which might not be ideal for those looking for a quiet spot. Limited Seating: Space can be limited, especially during busy times, making it difficult to find a table.

Overall, Poiká Breakfast & Coffee is a good spot with delicious food and an ok atmosphere, but be prepared for higher prices and...

Had breakfast today. A breakfast cost 157 Turkish lira, definitely not worth it.

Our breakfast platter didn't have cream. We were served really cold and tough bread.

The 3 staff ladies behind the counter were laughing and joking loudly when customers are right in front of them. The waiters don't seem particularly pleased about their jobs.

I know there are places that costs 300+, but this was definitely not worth it. I have myself had breakfast that costs 350 Turkish lira.

We also ordered menemen with sujuk which is actually priced 80 Turkish lira and then menemen with fried minced meat that costs 96, eventhough I was given menemen with sujuk I was charged for menemen with fried minced meat.

The Turkish tea was decent.

On top of the price, charged us 30 Turkish lira as service charge.

Overhyped and over priced.

It also seems like the adjacent kebap parlour is owned by the same person. A man from outside came here carrying a simit and ate here and then somebody came from here to get some tissue paper and then our waiter went there to get our cheque.

Doesn't seem...
