Cafe Şafak — Restaurant in Göreme

I would not recommend this place. Usually I like to buy from local small businesses but this place is overpriced with below average food. I am previous returning customer but I will not be back as I was shocked how it has gone down hill. Manti was cold and undercooked, we never received our side of bread that the staff promised us and the staff member charged and extra 50 to my card with no prior communication. When I noticed and questioned what the extra costs were for she proceeded to tell me the 10% card fee and a self inflicted tip which I really would of appreciated being told before hand. she spoke perfect English so the language barrier was not a problem it was just a matter of a sneaky money grab. Integrity and transparency goes a long way in customer service and hospitality. I will not be back! save your money on this place! There are way tastier places with better service...

Good selection of breakfast options, from traditional Turkish breakfast to different styles of eggs, fruit salad and muesli. I went for the fruit salad with yoghurt and honey and it was fantastic! There was orange, apple, pear, kiwi, pomegranate, and strawberries. There wasn't a huge amount of yoghurt and it was a bit watered down from all the fruit juices but it was a great fruit selection for 200lr. The Turkish tea was also very nice. Unfortunately they misheard me and thought I'd ordered salep not salad so they also brought that, which to be fair was very nice, but was quite an added cost that I hadn't...

Unsanitary conditions, ordered a chicken kebab and got a chicken sandwich instead. This family run restaurant is too old and the grandpa or dad person just finished smoking a cigarette, did not wash his hands, touched my sandwich and tried to serve it to me. Disgusting and unbelievable. Also the son, who made the sandwich (should’ve been a kebab) took our menus away and started touching our bread. The menus are touched by people throughout the day and what a way to spread coronavirus thanks.
