The atmosphere and attention to details are amazing. They give you a pallet cleanser between each meal and have excellent service. It definitely needs more people to know it’s there. Now the food for me, wasn’t amazing. I don’t know if they gave us the wrong main course but we ordered for appetizer the gnocchi - which was great but also very interesting. Which I do like about this restaurant, the chef experiments, and has pride in their work, it’s definitely an amazing culinary experience. Second we ordered the Lobster Thermador stuffed with cheese but we found no cheese but some sort of bouillabaisse sauce which I didn’t care for. Lobster itself is good. I didn’t like the pallet cleansers. We ordered the Lava Cake for desert, my spouse was not impressed, and it doesn’t take much to impress her with lava cake. She said it was too dry. Also adding on 20% gratuity on a 2 person table, that’s fine, but it also makes the customer feel bad without leaving an extra tip. So we left one for the service but I wish I had the option to leave my own tip which would’ve been 30% based on service. It just put me off. Overall it is overpriced but as you can see from our lobster photo, it wasn’t lobster Thermador. So, I probably would try it for a romantic night, but the food is interesting and original with so many different flavors that some people might not enjoy it. Overall I give...

Worst service ever. Hostess sat us down. Second person gave us menus. Third person asked for our drink order. The fourth person was actually our server and finally took our food order. We tried to order food earlier but every person prior said we had to wait for our server and that they couldn’t take our order. There’s apparently one server for the entire restaurant which was pretty annoying since it was hard to get our server’s attention and it took some time for our server to even check up on us if we wanted to order anything else. I was trying to order a side but it took me like 30 mins to order it. By that time, I was already done with my entree. Also, when I used the bathroom, the bathroom door did not lock and the seat did not lie down correctly for a woman to use it. I had higher expectations for this place. I wouldn’t go back. Probably the worst restaurant experience I had so far in T&C and I’ve already been here for a week. Also all of the appetizers and entrees we received were really salty which threw me off a little. I didn’t like the...

The online menu for Coyaba features several vegetarian options. When our party got to the restaurant, we found the menu presented on site featured few vegetarian sides and no vegetarian entrees. Among the vegetarian sides, the curried cauliflower was really delicious, but the “romaine lettuce salad” was plain lettuce, croutons, cheese, and tomatoes all separate and not mixed together at all. It was far below an average salad.

At the end of our meal, we said very politely that they should consider editing the menu online, and the hostess said rather rudely that it was a sample menu. The fact is that the words “sample menu” were a small footnote online. A sample menu should not be so far off from the actual food offerings and it should be more clear that the menu is a sample.

If you are a vegetarian, avoid this spot. We paid about $50 per person and most of our food was underwhelming sides.

PS the ambience was nice and the other staff was really kind, unfortunately our overall experience was...

While expensive it is definitely worth it. From appetizers to dessert and everything in between it was delicious. The ambiance is nice with lots of vegetation, white curtains, firelight on every table and soft music in the background. The service was very quick and attentive. We ordered the burrata, rolls, and pork belly as appetizers. All were a hit! There was lots of little surprises as well. An amuse bouche to start (gazpacho), a palate cleanser (guava sorbet), and a free bite of cocoa with coconut. The mains were also fantastic. The steak was perfectly cooked the sauce was subtle the truffle fries were addictive. The shrimp curry with Jasmine Rice was very well liked by those who ordered it. Last but not least the toffie pudding was packed full of yumminess! There's also a parking lot nearby. Total cost per person including 3 tasty cocktails was about $130 per person (tax and tip included).

We had an amazing experience this evening at Coyaba. All of the staff were very attentive and welcoming. There was one main waiter and several others assisting him bringing us the various courses, keeping our water and wine glasses full. It was an interesting concept. I thought it freed up the waiter to spend more time with each table sharing in detail about the wine and specials etc. We loved that after the meal we had a raspberry sorbet to cleanse our palette and then some chocolate, a precursor to our dessert. It was a delightful evening. Was happy to see the chef make an appearance before we left. He is extremely talented!! We can’t wait to go back.
