The best bar attender I have ever seen.

Many pretty establishments out there in Kyiv but good luck to find the same kind of superb approach. We made ourselves comfortable at a table and a bartender appeared in a perfect moment. He took a sit nearby and started with the welcoming host greeting: "What do you feel like today?"

It wasn't boring "What do you want to order?", nor it was a silly "Have you decided?" Not in the world. He - as a experienced tailor who need only a second to measures client's sizes - was able to find our needs and offer a suitable chose of drinks. Little chat about cocktails with gentle and professional guiding on his part and we stopped on classic martini.

Needless to say, drinks itself, interior and other staff were brilliant. However, a personal approach of a bar attender left the highest positive impression on me.

Been there twice - on my first visit was overwhelmed with the atmosphere, courteous staff (they meet you at the door, take your coats and lead you to the bar) and superb cocktails. The second visit was a complete disaster. The bar was full and they didn’t let us in, which is fine. We waited outside until some people left and asked if we could go in. The same guy, who didn’t let us in the first time, recognizing us became very agitated and rude and said we still couldn’t go in. Not sure if that was their way of “face control” or them trying to spike up the interest, they failed. So disappointing when a cool place can be trashed in a minute by one...

Generally speaking, it is a very nice and cozy place where you are able to find a decent atmosphere and a nice variety of drinks. Bartenders are able to cover all your needs and most weird tastes by giving you a chance to try something new and not even on menu. Guts are able to keep an authentic atmosphere of a speakeasy bar where you get back every time and feel like home. There is no other place like Beatnik i would definitely...
