Oriental Korner Restaurant — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

HOPE THIS WILL BE NOTICED‼️‼️‼️ We came from Dubai and visited this restaurant around 6pm last night and I would say that the food was good with reasonable menu prices, however, SERVICE was extremely unsatisfactory!❌ From the moment we entered the restaurant, nobody greeted or even approach or assisted us to the table. A guy noticed that we were sitting and just gave the menu on our table. Few minutes later, we were ready to order and tried to call the attention of the waiter & waitress but they were very busy. We had to wait few more minutes to be attended. We ordered 3 dishes with rice and drinks. After the waitress punch our order, she immediately served our cold drinks. The disappointing part was, we waited more than an hour for our food. There were customers, 3-4 tables came after us (note that we already ordered before they came in). Shockingly, those tables were being served first. All the customers already had their food on their tables even we came and ordered before them. We decided to follow up the order, guess they missed the order receipt in the kitchen. The staffs were telling “food is coming” but we again waited for another 10-15 mins after the follow up. After more than an hour, food was served, we asked for disposable cutlery and ice since the ice on our drinks already melted and it wasn’t cold anymore. The waitress named Thelma told us that the cutlery has charge and we agreed but she didn’t came back to us to give our request cutlery & ice. My partner again approached her and said “can you please give us the cutlery & ice ‘coz our drinks isn’t cold anymore. We waited for our food more than an hour already.” Then what made us very disappointed was the way the waitress named Thelma replied, “what can I do?!” 🤷🏻‍♀️ and make faced. Our request wasn’t given by Thelma (seems she already forgot it), so my partner just decided to stand up and approach the other staff near the kitchen door and asked for cutlery & ice. 🫤 During my visit, I was observing the staffs, nobody was paying attention to the customers even others were trying to call them. Worst customer service experience ever! 🫤 We cannot deny that the food was great but please try to improve the service of your staffs. We could understand the long wait for our food since there’s a lot of customers but not the attitude of your staffs especially your waitress Thelma. 🫤👎🏻 Imagine you were in our situation that our food was already delayed for more than an hour seeing other customers who came after us already had their food on their tables, ice on our drinks already melted and wasn’t cold anymore because of the long wait and lastly being disappointed on the waitress’...

The food was good (ordering lumpia and miki-bihon) for take away. The only problem was that call was placed on 16th Oct 2020 at 16:19, order received by 18:11. It seems they are far too swamped on Fridays.

After 5 years, Dec 31 2024: Out of all restaurants, cafeteria and fast food chains I have been, this by far has given me the worst experience. They are taking the time of their customers for granted. They can't even temporarily hire extra staff during peak seasons or hours.

Made an order two days early, requested for delivery specifically on or before 11:30am. Fast forward the day of delivery, no one is answering their restaurant phone numbers on the day of delivery. Went there directly and I was informed that it was just sent out, they gave me the one of the driver's contact which is turned off, I received a call almost 1 hour after, wherein I already left home to go to work. I had it cancelled on the spot.

They told me they are swamped as it is peak season. They know how much customers they have during peak season and yet everytime they have never tried to make a solution for it.

If you want to have your food delivered, make the time 3 hours early because I think they just doing delivery...

I really love the food in this restaurant- no doubt about it. But they have to improve their service. I am not referring to the servers but the waiting time in this restaurant is terrible. It won’t recommend dining in this restaurant if you’re too hungry because the waiting time is at least 1 hour. I have been in UAE for 13 years and their waiting time has not improved the same goes if you prefer delivery service. No complaints with their servers- they are all hardworking and efficient. The management should have added more staff especially in their kitchen to improve their service plus I don’t know how much salary their crew are getting but I could only see 2-3 waitstaff who are non-stop working in the resto. It was jam packed at night after waiting for 1 hour having our food served and then us, almost finishing our food, we still did not get the chicken. We followed up 3x until a waitstaff approached us if we are gonna cancel it. After 3x follow ups they still did not get the chance to check our order??? We were upset that the meat in kare-kare wasn’t tender so we ended up returning it. They did not serve us a new one. We have planned for this dinner for 2 weeks considering that we are all busy. Again, the food taste is 5 star but please add kitchen and dine in crew. So 2 of our courses...
