For a restaurant to call themselves an authentic Malaysian and Thailand restaurant it's still far. I had dinner with my family of 4 and 3 of us having Malaysian food which is mediocre at best, the taste is out, satay is great, the chicken rice is out for that price, small pieces of chicken, the rice smells weird. My wife is having Penang Char Kue Tiaw, the noodles are hard, not enough blanching, the taste is alright, no sambal, the prawn is still with its skin. My daughter is having Tom Yum Noodle soup, this food was delayed to about until myself, my wife and and my youngest daughter finished our food, after we asked 3 times and everyone go and check but no one came back and said it's going to be a delay, what worse was the food for the next table was already all out before my daughter have her first bite. The soup is not tom yum, it's more like a Malaysian laksa taste. There is no taste of the lemongrass or the Kafir lime, and who adds red onion in their tom yum soup? The floor needs deep cleaning, the sofa needs to be sanitized, the placemat is dirty and in need of cleaning, we got a table with unnecessary hole. This comment is to improve their services, food and the environment. Take it as hard or as something...

Restaurant owners seem keen on squeezing every bit of profit out of diners at the expense of quality and taste.
The first alarm sounded when we were served discount brand water for AED4 (the 500ml bottles usually given away free at cafeteria style restaurants).
Pad Thai was served as a mass of overcooked noodles clumped together from with dominant taste of sugar. Seafood was overcooked and rubbery. Portion of noodles and protein is quite small, especially for AED 39.
Salads were much different than pictured wiyh haphazardly cut veggies. The seasoning was unbalanced with garlic dominant in the papaya salad. The green beans in the salad tasted musty and were well past their prime.
The sticky mango dessert was a let down- served with an overly ripe and heavily fibrous regional mango (vs proper nam dok Thai mango). For 33 dirham I expect proper ingredients.
Ultimately, considering food quality and ingredients, price is double what it should be. Compared to other options in the area that are similarly priced, San Thai ranks last on my list in terms of quality and...
Read moreI recently dined at San Thai & Malay Asian, a restaurant that offers a fusion of Thai and Malaysian cuisine.
We ordered the Mee Goreng and Pad Thai, and to our disappointment, both dishes were undercooked and raw. This not only affected the taste but also led to my niece falling ill. The food quality needs significant improvement.
We also tried some of the desserts, but they, too, fell short of our expectations. The overall dessert experience left much to be desired.
To add to the disappointment, we ordered a drink called Sala Soda, which was advertised as a flavored syrup mixed with soda. However, the reality was quite different. It lacked any hint of soda and tasted nothing like what was promised.
I can only rate my experience at San Thai & Malay Asian as 1 out of 5. The poor quality of the food, unmet expectations with the drinks and desserts, and the unfortunate incident of my niece falling ill marred what could have been a pleasant dining experience. I sincerely hope that the restaurant takes steps to improve its food quality and overall offerings...
