đ¨ Discriminatory & Humiliating Experience at Tortilla â Dubai Marina Mall (13 September 2025)
On September 13, I experienced one of the most humiliating moments of my life at Tortilla, Dubai Marina Mallâan experience that still leaves me shocked today.
Three weeks earlier, Tortilla gave me a driver loyalty cardâa program meant to reward delivery drivers with free items after a certain number of pickups. I was impressed by this initiative and even brought friends to dine at Tortilla twice, paying out of my own pocket to support a brand that seemed to value drivers like me.
But when I finally earned my free drink on September 13, everything changed. I presented my stamped card to the female staff member on duty. She stamped it but refused to give me the drink. When I politely pointed this out, she replied in a hostile tone:
âYou should have said you wanted it.â
Surprised but calm, I said, âOkay, I want it.â With a contemptuous look, she grudgingly asked which drink I wanted, prepared it with visible irritation, and shoved it toward me. When I questioned why the loyalty program exists if staff treat drivers this way, she dismissed me completely:
âYou took your drink and your orderâjust leave.â
All of this unfolded in front of other drivers, making me feel like I was begging for something I had rightfully earned. The difference was clear: as a paying customer, I had been welcomed. As a delivery driver, I was treated with open disrespect.
The humiliation was so deep that I threw the drink away as I left, keeping only the stamped card as proof.
Since that day, I have sent multiple complaints to Tortillaâbut weeks have passed and no one has responded. Your silence speaks louder than any apology.
Tortilla, is this how you reward loyalty? Is this how you treat the very people who help keep your business running?
I am deeply disappointed and will never return as a customer. I share this experience so othersâcustomers and drivers alikeâknow how badly a brand can betray the community it claims to support.

Read moreExtremely disappointed at the service. The most confusing place to order for vegetarians.
The menu says free Guac for vegetarians... BUT if you chose a vegetarian protein they will charge you for Guac and the vegetarian protein. This makes no sence.
They charge 5 aed for the tempeh, but if you chose this you need to pay 5 aed for tempeh and 6 for Guac. If not don't chose tempeh you don't pay anything for the Guac.
They were trying to say something like Guac counts as a 2nd protein, it clearly not a protein, its a salad, and the menu clearly says "Free guac for vegetarians".
This makes absolutely no sense at all, even the staff were confused and couldn't explain it.
They are not honoring the menu and trying to scam people for 6 extra aed. How pathetic.
And on top they skimp on the ingredients, like 1 tea spoon of salad, and they make you feel bad for asking for lettuce.
Please don't bother giving a generic response, clarify your menu and stop charging a premium for vegans and vegetarians who actually care for animals and the planet....
