I recently visited this Asian Korean restaurant, and while I was expecting a good meal, I ended up with so much more, thanks to my incredible server, Ahmed from Niger. From the moment I sat down, Ahmed’s warm, friendly energy made me feel more than welcomed. His genuine smile and upbeat attitude set the stage for what turned out to be one of the most enjoyable dinners I’ve had because of the server.
What stood out most about Ahmed wasn’t just his excellent service but his ability to connect on a personal level. I made a little joke at the start of the meal, and instead of giving a polite chuckle like most servers might, Ahmed embraced it wholeheartedly and went along with it like he was an old friend. He was clever, quick-witted, and so natural in his response that it made the whole dining experience feel fun and lighthearted. It’s rare to come across someone who not only excels in their job but also makes you feel like you’re the highlight of their day. Ahmed definitely deserves special recognition for that.
As for the food, it was flavorful and satisfying—just what you'd expect from a good Korean restaurant. However, there is one thing that could have been better: the flies. There were a few buzzing around my table, which became a bit of a nuisance. While it didn’t ruin the evening, it’s something the restaurant should address to elevate the overall experience.
Despite that, Ahmed’s amazing service made up for it. In fact, his presence and energy made the evening so enjoyable that I left feeling more satisfied than I have at some much fancier restaurants.
I’ll definitely be coming back, and honestly, a big part of that is to have Ahmed as my server again. If you visit, ask for him—you won’t be...
Read moreLast night, my hubby and I enjoyed an evening meal out. We went to the Wagamama at the Dubai Marina Mall. The atmosphere was pleasant, however, it was somewhat humid. I wasn't sure if it was the lamp over our table or if they just hadn't cleaned their air conditioner in a while. It would be strange if the air conditioners weren't functioning now that spring has sprung.
The pad thai my hubby ordered looked delicious, but he stated it wasn't what he was anticipating. The miso soup he ordered was rather salty, so it was fortunate that he also got a side of pickled vegetables, balancing the taste.
I tried something new: non-spicy chicken ramen. The soup was rich, the noodles were tasty, and the portion size was adequate. I would recommend this dish, albeit it was a little salty at first. However, it was tolerable.
It's a shame that the food wasn't served all at once. My hubby was already eating, and my food arrived after about 7 minutes... and the deep-fired gyoza shrimp was the last to arrive, which was also late.
We were given with a shattered glass panna bottle, which my hubby noticed and they changed. They should be extra cautious while serving drinks from bottles. If you open it carelessly, there is a chance that the bottle's lip will crack.
In general, we had a decent experience to this restaurant branch. Certainly serviceable, though not precisely awe-inspiring. You should check them out if you're in the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Wagamama Japanese restaurant in Dubai Marina, and it was truly an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, and I knew I was in for a treat.
Firstly, I have to commend our server, Jason, for his excellent service. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was exceptional. He took the time to explain the menu and made recommendations based on our preferences, which was greatly appreciated. He even gave us green tea after the meal… on the house!
Now onto the food - it was simply divine! The menu boasts a wide variety of Japanese-inspired dishes, from traditional ramen bowls to fusion-style curries. For our main courses, we tried the Tepanyaki Steak Bulgogi, Tantanmen Ramen, Korean BBQ Beef, Tochigi Yellow Curry all the dishes were bursting with flavor. The portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. The Tochigi Yellow Curry, in particular, was a standout - the shrimp was flavorful and tender, and the curry sauce was rich and flavorful.
Overall, I would highly recommend Wagamama Japanese restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Dubai Marina. The food is outstanding, and the service is top-notch - a special thanks to Jason for making our meal even more enjoyable. I can't wait...
