I had previously left a good review of this place, however today's aggressive behaviour by a member of staff who had messed up my order and then sought to blame ME for not reading the menu to her word-for-word has made me remove it.
The incorrect order - my fault, remember - saw me served a dry, boring sandwich without the spinach or cheese described on the menu because I had not thought to read out the menu verbatim.
This was a misunderstanding that could so easily have been cleared up but instead the staff member chose to pick a fight with me. My previous experience of this place - and I was a fairly regular customer until today - was that the staff had been pleasant.
I will not be back.
Further to the comment below, I have already acknowledged that mistakes do happen. I would even accept that I could perhaps have been clearer about the item I ordered.
My issue is that the member of staff concerned was rude, aggressive and made me feel wretched. The friends with whom I was sitting agreed that her attitude stank and that her customer service was well below par. One of my friends tried to reason with her and was also barked at.
A different member of staff did, indeed, offer to correct the mistake but the original one started going on about the difference in price and how I would have to pay the difference. I accepted the original food as I just wanted to get away from the nastiness that your staff member displayed towards me and my party.
The reason I will not be back and will not be taking you up on the offer of a voucher is that I cannot face being in the same space as the obnoxious member of staff who was...
Read moreSo it's the second time I have been here. Firstly the cakes are AMAZING!
however...
The waitress that served my partner and I was rude from when we first walked in. We sat on the sofa and a chair when we came in, away from other people however there wasn't much choice due to half of the cafe being reserved. We had two trays, and they were both placed on two small circular tables in front of us, which were placed here by another waitress when they brought over our order. We would never ever take up two tables normally, however these two tables were for the two seater sofa, and you would think that due to SOCIAL DISTANCING only one family per sofa RIGHT?? Well apparently not. As half way through us finishing lunch, the waitress came and took our food off of one of the tables when there was still some left, and said that she was placing someone next to us, she then walked off. I was so shocked i had no words in the moment . Within a few minutes a man was directed to come and sit with us.
I never ever write reviews, and I have always worked as a waitress so I understand the stresses of a busy day. However, the blatant disregard for safety was so unbelievable I had to say something.
As masks can''t be worn when eating, having someone sit 30 centimetres from you is ridiculously stupid in these dangerous times.
I was part of the shielding process due to health conditions, so this has completely destroyed my confidence in eating out again.
I will never be eating here again as my health, and the health of my family is most important to me, and it really is a shame as the food is...
Read moreMy one star review is based on the wait time. I was told by the cashier staff that it would be a 10-15 minute wait for a bap and a toastie after I had ordered which was fine. But in actually I had to wait 40 minutes for the food because there were 5 other telephone orders that had come in, and then had to wait after all of these had been completed.
I appreciate that although the staff working were very apologetic and once our food finally came offered us a free drink and cake as I had come in twice to ask about our food, this is not really a great experience.
I would advise the owner to better prepare for these lunch time rushes as they must be expected and to train staff to advise customers with accurate timing. We should have been informed before we ordered food of a more accurate wait time, especially if people are stopping by for their...
