Visited this place yesterday. We were on time and ordered a bottle of prosecco while we waited for our friend to arrive. Our friend arrived but had to take an urgebt phone call and she took it downstairs due to surrounding noise (20mins into our booking only). One of the waiters came over amd spoke to us very rudely saying we NEED to order now as they need to free up the tables! I asked well how lomg do we have then to eat? And he replied no time but we need the table so maybe hour and 50 mins at which i replied well thats fine as we are only 30 mins in and have ordered bottle of prosecco and will take note of our time frame. Another waiter hoovered over my friend whilst she was on the phone down stairs and the rude one said to us while we tried to explain we needed 5 mins and he rudely shouted that "he is confused and he doesnt want to know and we MUST order now" (30mins in and we still have hour and ten minutes to go before freeing the table, considering we already had purchased a £40 worth of bottle anyway) two members that were seated said well we can order then now and then when our friend is off the urgent call she can ordrr light if yoi do not have time to cater, at which point the waiter said no we will come back (so clearly HE was the one that was confused in his own role and not realy confused by us!) We were planning to leave at that point but with the pre booking at nearly every place now we decided to "just eat" and leave asap. When my friend arrived he immediately came over and stood over her huffing and puffing waiting for her to order! Like a mother ordering a child to hurry up and eat! What kind of service is that! I have never experienced in my life! So my friend quickly ordered and we carried on talkiing... The food arrived within minutes! So ny question to the restaurant and its arrogant staff, "what was the rush!?" food was not very nice, bland and very poor quality. It also arrived cold! Plates were cold, food was cold. Whilst we ate we constantly were asked if they could take the plates! There was still food on the table so no you cant take the plate?!? Who trains you staff? When the bill arrived we asked for the service charges to be removed (we should have asked for a further discount to be honest for compensation of a very bad experience). The waiter asked "why?" and we said, your rude service, rushing us to finish asap when we knew what our time slot was, and then no one attended us to poor drinks but constabtly came over to take plates with food on. Do not go here, you will be disappointed. Go mcdonalds if you want a quick in and...
Read moreHaving not visited for a year. I took my fiancee. Excitedly to my favourite restaurant. Last time I was treated like a star. The staff were approachable, friendly and attentive. Continually checking that everything was ok. This time WAS HORRIBLE!! From the start we were treated appallingly. 6 different waiters. Throughout the horrific experience. Ordered oysters to start then fillet steak and lobster. Not once were we asked if we were ok or needed anything. We were completely ignored. The fillet steak was sliced in to thin stips and was salty. How could we know if it WAS a fillet steak. The 5th waitress was told about this and I asked if (Having been before and had an amazing time and was given a small taster of each desert on the menu) I could have this again. Another waitress came over and told us the service charge would be removed. Laughable since we received no service and was ignored by ALL the staff. We asked for the bill and not having reception the machine failed. At this point the staff became very aggressive and ordered the security guard not to let us leave. We were very intimidated. The staff were then talking about us in Italian. Which I understood fully. Don't BOTHER with this place. The staff are RUDE and the food is NOT WORTH the PRICE and was NOT a fillet steak which I paid for. As you can see from the pictures. The steak was sliced which I didn't ask for nor expected and was NOT explained or stipulated by the menu. So how do I trust or know that I was served and paid for a fillet steak??? I am disgusted by the whole establishment . We were made to pay for the meal into an employee's PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT . NOT THE RESTAURANT ACCOUNT. IS THIS PROFESSIONAL? IS THAT ILLEGAL ? DEFINITELY immoral AND UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT??? The manager did NOT ONCE handle the situation OR SPEAK TO US ( the gentleman who wears the different trousers) he in fact was standing talking rude about my partner and I. On what we were wearing. Which I was actually wearing Chanel hat and coat. At this point I spoke out and to the shock horror of my disclosure that I could understand EVERYONE and what was being said. The staff disbursed and pretend to be busy. DISGUSTING. We should have been asked for our address and allowed to leave the restaurant. Not forced down stairs which had even worse signal and strong armed into paying into a personal employee bank account. Horrible from start to finish. AVOID...

With its impeccably charred crust and a medley of exquisite toppings, each bite was a symphony of flavours, making it much more than just a pizza - it was a celebration of gastronomic artistry.

Its layers of al dente pasta, rich ragu, and silky bechamel sauce combined to create a dish that was both comforting and sophisticated. This lasagne was a charming mix of rustic and refined, capturing the essence of Italian comfort food.
Then there was the chicken in white wine sauce, an absolute sensation. The chicken, tender and succulent, was bathed in a heavenly sauce that was both light and richly flavoured. It was a dish that showcased the perfect balance of ingredients, each mouthful a testament to the chef's skill in harnessing and elevating simple flavours to create something truly memorable.
Amidst this feast, the staff of San Carlos were the unsung heroes. Their attentive and genuine service added a layer of warmth to the dining experience, making us feel both valued and well looked after.
The meal culminated with a Tiramisu that was a dream come true for the connoisseurs among us. It was an impeccable mix of coffee, mascarpone, and cocoa, a dessert that spoke of Italian elegance and indulgence.
