I’m a regular customer (twice per day), and I bring my colleges with me every time. I’m vegan with allergy to fish, so I always eat the avocado maki and few other vegan options. Few days ago I started to see in my avocado maki fish eggs, so I told the nice blond manager that I have fish eggs in my sushi as she knows me very well and she is always helpful, she right away gave me new maki with no fish eggs and apologies nicely. Today I came again I order from Luca, a rude and not polite with no manners Italian guy ( I never like his service), which he’s also a manager there. I asked him the same sushi I eat every day in yo sushi, and I asked him to make sure everything vegan without fish eggs . Luca told me he will check and I don’t have to be worried. And when I got the sushi rolls it was again with fish eggs! In this point I was very upset, I called the button, and no one came to me, so I went forward to Luca, and told him that it’s the third time I get “vegan” maki with fish eggs and I am allergic to fish! His response was “you can’t come to me! You need to wait until we will come to you” I told him that he will not speak to me like that especially because I’m a regular Customer who bring my colleges their everyday . He said “whatever” in a rude way. I don’t understand how a person who doesn’t know how to give a customer service is a manager in a branch of a successful chain shop like Yo Sushi. I don’t understand how come they’re taking easily allergies of people. I also noticed they don’t change gloves when they make the vegan sushi and the ones with the fish, and how not aesthetically they work.
I’ll take it forward, but I just want everybody to be...
Read moreI went there in both 2006 and again in 2007. I can say that I had a VERY different outcome as the first I went in 2006.
My 2006 visit. The sushi bar was ran by Japanese staff and the woman that served me showed me what I needed to do and I just picked the food I liked and the plates are coloured as well as they are different prices. So its easy to navigate and just choose something that you want to eat.
I enjoyed the miso soup as never tried it before. It was a nice thing to try and I had the maki rolls, the nigiri (hope I spelt that right) sushi with the salmon on it and another plate with the prawn sushi on it was lovely. I ordered no wasabi as I dislike it personally and it was not a problem for the staff to fulfill my request either. It was a great service so I thought I shall call again when I am next in Birmingham.
A year later in 2007. I returned again and that visit was a somewhat disappointing one to say the least. The staff was new and the quality of the food on that visit was very poor and the teriyaki was disgusting and some of the vegetables were still raw and the sushi I ordered had wasabi in it despite that I order no wasabi for me. Although the staff were polite and helpful like I got in 2006. The food was a let down as the sushi was not up to par to put it nicely which was why I didn't come back the following year and went somewhere else in 2008.
Whilst i cannot say how it would be now. I would just exercise caution as one time you may get a great service on one occasion and another time. It can be...
Read moreWe went to go and get some food at this yo sushi a few days ago, we got miso soup, yo fries and the veggie dumpling ramen as well as some tap water for the table. The only good thing was our miso soup. The service was just bad as every time we spoke to staff they looked confused and we had to repeat ourselves constantly as well as this there was not one single smile or just general kind attitude towards us when we entered. The fries were an outrageously small portion especially for how much they cost. Once the ramen arrived I tried it and it was honestly just like warm water. I’ve had it before and wanted it for months leading up to this but it was just shocking the noodles were over cooked and the soup was so bland I maybe had two bites until I caught some of the staffs attention. I really try not to complain about food but I knew that I had to, I told one of the staff and they looked at me confused once again until eventually I asked for the manager even then the first thing he asked was if I wanted it remade, I said that I didn’t because I was on a time crunch so when I eventually went to pay the bill I had found that the noodles that literally hadn’t eaten were still on there and I ended paying £17 for fries and miso soup also my second biggest complaint would have to be the water. It’s just in a plastic jug no ice or anything it was luke warm at best. Very disappointed and will not be coming back due to the lack of friendly staff and general poor quality of food and lack of customer...
