I really don’t know what it is about this place. I occasionally stop in for a breakfast of sorts and a coffee when I got the chance but that’s me done here. Last trip I had I remember the food being cold and tasteless and that the Millionaire shortbread was I’m guessing the most expensive on the planet
£4.50 for a small slice! Last time I took the scrambled eggs and toast back but had to go as time dictated
today I went for a breakfast roll and an oatmeal cappuccino which hit £8.00+. I had a go at it but had to stop as despite seeing the offerings in what looked like a hot case the sausages were cold. The oatmilk cap was great.. but once again I took the food back where the staff did apologise and offered to make it again but alas time was beating me. I didn’t even have time to wait for a refund. Just trying to eat hot food for breakfast instead of out of a packet
Hey I noticed that the cakes had also gone up in price! I feel sorry for the staff having to push this food as it’s not their fault and the server did seem genuinely concerned. I won’t be back and I think somebody here has to take ownership a bit more. There’s also no need to reply as I fear a “ because of...

Awful service or should I say severe lack of it. Upon entering told to pick a table and its table service and someone would be along to take our order. Figured out the small piece of paper with the QR code on the table was the menu. Menu is very vague and doesn't include all items that are available as you could see customers receiving iced coffees and drinks which weren't listed after 10-15mins of no one coming near us as the staff cleared tables and gathered behind the counter I approached the counter, the 3 or 4 staff behind the counter done a grand job of desperately trying not to make eye contact incase someone had to speak to me, I said we were informed that it was table service when we entered and was abruptly told someone will be with me shortly. Back to the table waited and waited and as I watched another staff member clear another table nearby, myself and wife thought best to leave to somewhere else where customer...

A wonderful discovery on a mid-week morning, this coffee shop oozes style offering fair-priced yet exceptional coffee in a serene and relaxed ambience.

Wonderfully creative pastries are on display.

The place felt ‘Edinburgh’ but had tones of those old cafes in the 20’s and 30’s. There is water available with slices of lemon, free WiFi from the neighbourhood hotel (that doesn’t require a password) Nd space between tables to make you feel you have probably but still be part of the wonderful murmur that cafes offer.

They care about the environment: buy a free everlasting coffee cup and get your first cup free and any others 10% off. I had a flat white for ÂŁ2.70 to give you an idea.

It’s the kind of place you want to go back to on purpose rather than...
