Partner and i popped in for a cocktail. Little disappointed in the overall experience after seeing so many good reviews.
The peach iced tea cocktail was good.
However, the cocktail my partner got was awful, Fishermans Dawn. All you could taste was burnt coffee. Would recommend avoiding any cocktails that include coffee, and also avoid the coffee in general as we have been told by others that even the hot cups of coffee are not good.
The man behind the bar who served my partner didn't have much of a personality, or come across welcoming, which sort of dampened the mood. It kind of made me feel as though we were an inconvenience to have walked in. There was a young lady also working and she seemed a lot more positive and upbeat when serving customers.
Decor was lovely. The place has been done up beautifully. Its a shame the man said there was no upstairs seating, as that feels like a missed opportunity for sea views.
Prices were slightly higher than other cocktail places we had come across in the area, but maybe thats because its beachfront, so you pay for that priviledge i guess.
Probably not somewhere we'd return to in a hurry, but i wouldn't rule out going back to try a different (non coffee) cocktail if it...
Read moreWell.. it all started when we arrived, pre booked online and have to admit I didn't do a very good job and ended up with totally wrong table to what we were expecting. George who greeted us understood and sorted us a nice table that we thought we booked upstairs... great service. Then came the restaurant service. Gina came to ask for our drinks, made us feel really welcome and was very nice. She then took our food order and was very friendly and hospitable throughout. Food was served by Abby, very friendly and accommodating throughout. All the while the food was fantastic and the views through the 'Arched window' everything that playschool promised (those that are old enough). Everything exceeded our expectations throughout and then we went back down to the bar for a nightcap. Both Gina and Abby again made us feel very welcome and the cocktails were amazing. Especially the Negroni for me thats always a tricky one to get made right but they did it to perfection. All in all the best place we've visited...
Read moreWhile we were on holiday, we decided to have dinner at Geo. Things didn’t get off to the best start — our drinks were wrong and took a while to sort out, and then we were accidentally given someone else’s meal.
That said, once everything was sorted and our food arrived, it was totally worth the wait. The food was great! We went for the Wednesday Steak Club deal and really enjoyed it.
The only thing I’d change (especially since there were four of us) would be to ditch the wooden boards and just serve the food on plates. The boards made the table feel crowded, and we ended up moving everything onto plates anyway.
Despite the early hiccups, the staff were lovely and did their best to make up for the issues — they even took the drinks off the bill, which was a nice touch.
All in all, a good experience, and we’d...
