We called in the Esplenade Hotel for my wife to reminisce about when she worked there 35 years ago. Meeting up with a friend she worked with, we all went into Harry's bar to chat over a couple of drinks. We spoke to a lovely lady behind the bar, Gemma, who welcomed us and brought everyone up to date with what had happened in the years since they left. Our first meal on Monday night was very good , well presented but Tuesday breakfast & Dinner left a lot to be desired. Perhaps it was chefs night off ?? The salmon was under cooked , smothered in sauce when the night before had been presented in a individual sauce jug ! .The meal was sent back and I made do with a Salad ! oh Wow what a gem of a place, Harry's Bar is such a lovely place and so near the town centre and bus route. the music is playing but comfortably enough to hear the company l am with. the food is very good and good value. highly recommended.
