Lucia, the charming Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of York, left us utterly delighted during our recent visit. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear that this establishment excelled in every aspect, from service to food, drinks, and desserts. The service at Lucia was nothing short of amazing. The staff was attentive, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu. They went above and beyond to make our dining experience special. As for the food, it was a true Italian culinary delight. I savored a mouthwatering pepperoni pizza, perfectly baked with a thin, crispy crust and a rich tomato sauce. My girlfriend opted for the arrabbiata, which she described as lovely, with just the right balance of spice to tantalize the taste buds. To cap off our wonderful meal, we indulged in a decadent chocolate brownie for dessert. It was the perfect sweet ending to our dining experience. Lucia's drink selection was impressive, offering a variety of options to complement our meals. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and romantic, making it the perfect place for a date night in York. In summary, Lucia is a gem of an Italian restaurant that we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for a delicious pizza, a delectable pasta dish, or a sweet treat, Lucia has it all. Combine that with the outstanding service and inviting atmosphere, and you have the recipe for a perfect evening in York.

Lucia was highly recommended by a few different people when we said we were coming to York to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was busy and we waited a far bit of time for our table to be ready, however we had a few cocktails and sat on the comfy sofas with the fleece blankets whilst we waited. The staff were polite and attentive. We were seated and our server - a man with some excellent knowledge of the food was very friendly and professional. My only gripe was the table lay out, we were on the terrace and squeezed in - might I add that this is one of the busiest weekends in York, so we totally understand, however, when we return, we will request a table inside. However, I must say, the service, the food and the restaurant itself, more than made up for this. I had the king prawns to start, the pulled beef risotto for main and the tiramisu to finish. I was rather jealous of the duck breast my partner had, to be honest all of the food looked, smelled and tasted sooo good! The service was excellent, attentive and friendly. The facilities were exceptionally clean, although they did run out of toilet roll( again busy day) Overall, if you want to have an amazing meal whilst in York, you’ve got to visit Lucia’s. We will definitely return!

We visited here on a Saturday late afternoon around after 4pm. Entered very lovely interior very modern. We was sat down by the stairs just on a table for two people which was fine, but after a few minutes it got very loud as we was sat next to maybe a tablet of 10 being so loud my partner wear one cochlear implant and he could barely hear me so most of the night we sat in silence, also non stop people walking past and the table was next to a window and people where sat on the other side and my anxiety was going through the roof and felt uncomfortable in general where we was sat, didn’t want to say anything because felt embarrassed maybe next time will mention it in booking notes if they read them because some restaurant don’t 🥲 we had a steamed muscles in spicy tomato which was a big portion but something I make at home noting special, he has the pork bell which basically was one pork belly cut into two but I guess that was fine for an appetiser. For main we had lobster ravioli which was nice but not made fresh like it would be in a real Italian restaurant and he had the seafood linguine which was average again nothing special would be better if there was some actual full tiger prawns added to it also very bland but each to their own. Dessert we both had the chocolate brownie which was very nice. There was a bit of a delay with one of our drinks had to be prompted to get it to us. Over all dinner was average nothing amazing.

Nice food, but need to be more attentive… Last came here in October and had a really great evening so I was very much looking forward to this. However, it just all felt a bit flat. The waiters were not attentive. Asked for a Coke with no ice and no lemon and it came with both, so sent it back and then had another one with lemon in. Asked for a pint of Peroni which never appeared. Steak came with no steak knife and we were not the only table it’s happened to. It’s just the little things that you expect a high-end restaurant like this to know. Brie and Asparagus starter was quite small for £8 and there really wasn’t much flavour at all. For the main course my partner had rib eye steak which was £20 without any sides whatsoever so he had new potatoes for an extra £5 which seems quite steep. I had a chicken skewer which as you can see from the picture did not have a great deal on it and was slightly overcooked. I completely appreciate everything has gone up in price, but so has the menu and the quality has gone down. I find it a little bit galling that a 10% service charge is automatically added; I think that should be worked for rather than assumed as it was in this case. Hopefully this was just a bad evening and we will have another good meal there at some point. £68 for one starter, two mains and two drinks was definitely not worth it this time

Arrived on Saturday night to a rowdy hen party swearing and not being overly nice to each other.. Seated at the front of the restaurant by a well presented gentleman whose service level was very good.. 4* for service. The restaurant is huge.. suggest if you do go, ask to be sat outside (looked really classy) and not near the front restaurant which was seating various hen party’s and large groups. Food was average. Pizza bread starter was undercooked, dry and short on tomato toppings compared to other Italian restaurants that we have visited. (See my other reviews.. clearly not freshly cooked) 2* for the pizza bread. Olives were really good.. thank you. 5* for the olives. Carbonara was salty maybe down to the amount of pancetta which was plentiful other than that it was nice. Thank you 4*. The shocker was the lasagna.. cooked with pulled beef.. clearly a cost cutting exercise but the taste was poor. Never seen this in my life at any Italian restaurant. 2* We had 2white and 2red glasses of wine which was nice and good value for money.. Overall cost was £93 for 2 persons. Overall.. if you want to go to an Italian restaurant that turns over customers for profit this is the place for you.. otherwise there was plenty more independent Italian restaurants around that will give you better value for money and a much better Atmosphere..
