OGGI Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Had many wonderful meals at Oggi and it is always our go to before going to the nearby De Montfort Hall theatre 🎭 .

Would strongly advise booking as this restaurant is always extremely popular and quite rightly so.

The staff are always extremely popular, special mention must go to Anu (there is an abundance of praise I could give). Anu is always ever so lovely and always goes the extra mile to ensure a great meal and all round experience, Anu is a credit to the Oggi team and always serves with a warm welcome and a smile and makes time to chat 😊 brilliant customer service and a credit to the Oggi team, certain dishes such as carbonara and scallops don’t appear on the menu, from personal experience I have ADHD and Autism so restaurants can be a huge struggle and asking for dishes that aren’t listed can cause me to panic, Anu is so thoughtful, patient and mindful of this and more than happy for me to order these dishes with no issues whatsoever, even checking that the table is ok for me and my family. In fact I would to as far to say that we now consider Anu a family friend ❤️

I heartily recommend the tiramisu which is the best I’ve tasted (and I’ve had a lot of tiramisu in my time being a favourite pudding 🍮)

Can’t wait to return in a few weeks time before seeing Jools Holland.

The food is fabulous, really authentic and full of flavour. The service wasn't so great.

The order for the starters and the mains was taken speedily but then when the food came we had to wait another 10 mins for the side dishes by this time some people had eaten their mains so just had the side dish to eat by itself. After the plates were cleared we were given dessert menus to look at. We were then asked if we wanted to order desserts, the whole table said "No thanks" so the staff member started to collect in menus. He then started to wave one at me asking me if I wanted a dessert, as I didn't here him when apparently he asked again and then started to say even his mother in Florida can hear him. I have a hearing impairment and the restaurant is so packed with people that I was finding it very difficult to hear him over the noise. I found his "joke" very rude. Some people on the table ordered coffees, these took over half an hour to arrive and I think we asked 5 times for the bill! The restaurant is so crammed packed with table and chairs, I needed 3 people to climb out their seats when I needed to visit the toilet.

It's such as shame because as I said at the start the food is amazing but the service and layout need to he revised and a little more staff training on invisible disabilities would...

Strange review to write. The food - best Italian in Leicester by a distance. Absolutely delicious. First time going and was highly recommended and did not disappoint on the food front. But only on the food front!

The servers were pleasant however the senior member of staff perhaps manager / owner far from. Noticed he was very friendly to all the tables around us, conversing with them. Now it was our turn. He came to our table to collect payment. Didn't ask if we enjoyed our meal but was happy to ask the table next to us if they were enjoying their meal mid way through. It wad the third time he asked them! Took my card and tapped it to pay contatctless without my permission and gave it me back and walked off. I was intending to give a tip as myself and my wife were so blown away with food and it was the least the team deserved.

My wife and I both walked out of the restaurant asking ourselves if we did something wrong or offended him in any way and ended up feeling really awkward.

We rarely have the pleasure of going out for a meal as a couple with having a small child. This was a special occasion and we had arranged child care. We were left with very mixed emotions. Food -tremendous. Management - much to be desired.

Just to reiterate the waiters were pleasant, management / senior staff...
