This is a nice alternative location to Pelicano's shops on Sydney Street and Lewes Road. It has the largest amount of outdoor seating. In fact there is no indoor seating here. The coffee is always lovely (to my taste). There is not the huge cake selection of note at the Sydney Street branch but there is always a selection of their tasty tray bakes available. I have found the service here to be good, at busy times it obviously takes longer to be served. There is a young blonde woman who seems to be working every time that I visit, she is always polite and of a friendly disposition, she makes a lovely coffee, I would assume that the rest of the staff there meet this standard. The overall atmosphere of the place is honestly largely based on the weather as it is an outdoor seating place. On bright sunny days it is nice to be sat outdoors there. For those wanting to sit outside on a sunny day or after a coffee on the go I would always recommend a Pelicano shop, this...
Read moreBeen going here since they opened and it's been great experiences every time. A solid selection of brew types with multiple roasts to choose from. The outside area is what keeps me coming back, perfect for people watching and yet comfortably enough away from the street to allow you to forget about it. The perfect place for a catch up with an old mate.
The staff are always super friendly and decently knowledgeable about coffee, they have an amazing old Probat roaster inside where they do most of the roasting.
The only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is because recently I have not had the best espresso based drinks, a little too burnt in taste. Probably just a bad batch. As my good experiences out way the bad.
(Also the orange juice is 10/10 none of...

I've been meaning to try them for a while and the level cafe is always busy with long queues which is always a good sign, however I now know why. We were waiting for a good 20 minutes from queuing to ordering and waiting for our coffees. The guy making and serving the drinks whilst polite was extremely slow, perhaps he is new, it took about 5 minutes to make each coffee hench the long queues of people waiting. The other member of staff was busily stamping the Pelicano brand onto all the coffee cups which seemed a bit pointless to all us waiting customers.
All in all great tasting coffee, but avoid it if...
