Looked in the window of this restaurant thinking it must be good, because it was fairly busy and a lot of Chinese people were eating in it. I was pretty wrong about that. The menu was confusing - they offered a 'buffet', but it was all made to order. The price of £15.50 per head seemed fairly reasonable. We ordered our starters and were given an enormous platter of food! There was enough there for all of us to be full.
I read the lengthy terms and conditions in the menu, which said that you can be charged extra for uneaten food, which you are not allowed to take away! But with such ridiculously huge portions served this seemed unfair. The rules also state that you're not allowed to order a starter after you've ordered a main, and you can't have a main until you've finished your starter. Really. The manager was hounding us the entire time, watching us like we were aliens. He pressured us into ordering mains even though we were getting quite full just from the starters. He was a very grumpy man, no smiles or politeness. In contrast - the young waitress we had was very kind and patient while she explained the menu, very polite and nice smile. This manager was the only issue with the service.
I asked for a glass of water - he took away my empty glass of coke and refilled it with water without even rinsing it! I wouldn't even do that in my own home. We finished eating (terrified we were going to be charged for the food we'd left) and while paying, the manager skulked off mumbling "should have ordered a la carte". He ignored the chinese customers and hounded us, and another non-chinese group who later came in.
If you're looking for a chinese buffet, don't come here. If you like mediocre chinese food and don't mind the weird manager, it might be alright. 2 star because the food wasn't bad, just average chinese takeaway food....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at "聚湘缘" and I must say that it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor was beautifully appointed, with traditional Chinese touches throughout the space. The tables were well spaced out, giving a feeling of privacy and intimacy.
The service at "聚湘缘" was impeccable. Our waiter, a kind and professional woman, made sure that we had everything we needed and was available to answer any questions we had about the menu. While she did not make recommendations for us, we were able to easily choose dishes ourselves from the wide variety of options on the menu.
But the real star of the show at "聚湘缘" was the food. From the moment the dishes started arriving at our table, it was clear that we were in for a treat. Each dish was beautifully presented, with vibrant colours and appetising aromas. The flavours were bold and authentic, with a perfect balance of spices and seasonings. We tried several dishes, including the "干锅肥肠," a savoury and spicy dish with braised pork intestines and vegetables, the "海带排骨汤," a nourishing and hearty soup with braised pork ribs and kelp, and the "金银馒头," a classic Chinese snack of steamed buns with a sweet and savoury filling. Every single dish was absolutely delicious and satisfying.
Overall, my experience at "聚湘缘" was truly exceptional. From the wonderful service to the delicious food, everything about this restaurant exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend "聚湘缘" to anyone looking for a truly memorable dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Chinese cuisine or just looking for a new place to try, you won't be disappointed by the quality and flavours offered at...
Read moreMe and my other half went in there for the meal. Staff were rude and blanking us for a good half an hour before anyone asked if we had ordered. Food was ok not great and not bad. Second time I went in there to get a take away. I was confronted with a guy saying "pick up?" I said no and " I'm here to get a takeaway" but after him getting the "pick up"(taking it out of the picnic cooler before I could actually complete my sentence). I said "Thats not mine"(twice before he actually listened to me the 3rd time of me saying)"no I want to order".Again, staff were rude and very unhelpful. The beef chow mein was very dry including the beef, tasted utterly burnt. The prawn toast wasn't prawn and was incredibly rank.
Overall experience of full house has been not worth the money. The lack of helpfulness and lack of decent food. Should of went to McDonald's, better service and...
