Rio's Piri Piri Weymouth — Restaurant in England

One of my favorite places to eat in Weymouth, for a quick bite. The prices are competetive, and the food is so tasty. I usually go for the extreme hot Frango burger, without mayo (and they always remember to not add mayo! Nice) It's the only place where extreme hot actually means it's spicy! I love the little chilli sauce dip too, really tasty. The fries are always prepared fresh to order and are crunchy and piping hot. I love the fact that they still use the proper straws in their soda cups - so no gross soggy paper in your drink (massive bonus points for not 'greenwashing' their business, and focusing instead on better customer experience). The staff are always friendly and polite while taking orders. It's always clean and well maintained too. No rubbish on the floor, tables are wiped down frequently, etc. If I had to find something that could be improved, I would say that the 1 minute loop advertising screen is a little distracting. But a very minor suggestion. I just love the fact that they don't 'tone down' the flavors, or spice, to patronize the British market - It's strong flavors, spicy, and authentic - Just the way it should be. Rios - Please keep things exactly the same. Don't change anything. I love it.

Edit 24/01/24 Dropping the score by a point as they forgot to remove the mayo from the burger, and had to buy another. However this was only one time, and mistakes happen. Also now they use paper straws which is a bit of a downer. But I do like the fact that they use exclusive drinks, like the mango soda, and mixed...

I have been here many times and initially found the chicken and burgers to be of good value and quality, especially the fried chicken wings. However, my last three visits spread over a few months have seen the food go from great to absolutely awful. I've had chicken pieces where the coating has fallen off when removing ftom the box and dripping with so much grease, the box fell apart and the food was inedible. I left it a few months before trying again and that time I had stale, dried chicken that was just disgusting. I politely and discreetly visited the manager to express my disappointment but they couldn't care less. So I decided that was it for me....until yesterday when I had finished work late, hadn't eaten all day and Rios was the only place open........and no surprises, the chicken was dry, more gristle and bone than chicken and the fries cold......it went straight into the bin and I went home hungry and had more pleasure eating toast !!!! They do a huge amount of trade via Just Eats and are all about the £ rather than the quality and I would definitely not...

Heard really good things about this place, so ordered a 9 piece platter box for me & my son. One of the pieces of chicken had a long hair in the actual coating of the piece of chicken, I had to double check it wasn't my hair, but it was actually weaved into the coating. Not a great start. The coating on most of the pieces of chicken was slimy and was so wet that most of it had slid off the chicken and was at the bottom of the box. The chicken was chewy and the fries were just about OK. I don't give bad reviews unless it is a really poor experience, and it really was. Hopefully just a bad night but I won't be going...
