Stopped over for lunch mid-week during half-term and managed to get a table for lunch for four without any waiting. I know this isn’t always the case, as we didn’t bother with waiting on a previous visit this summer when the queues were very long.

First impressions - really nicely maintained food market with lots of food and drink options. Great service and very clean when we visited.

After a lot of umming and ahing we settled on pizza from Amalfi by VIP for the kids and the sharing burger for two option from Patty Guy for ourselves. The pizza was deliciously juicy and even as a plain Margherita was a really good pizza.

Walking past the Patty Guy initially - the smells and sight of food on the pass was what made us consider that for our lunch. We were torn between them and the buttermilk chicken place across the hall but the sight of melted cheese and gooey burgers convinced us otherwise…

The problem with Patty Guy’s offer for a meal for two was while it seemed like a great option of two burgers and two portions of fries - which technically saves you around £5 overall - you had to order two of the same type of burger…?! I don’t understand why they’d limit customers to this as their burgers all cost pretty much the same price but you were forced to pick the same even if you wanted something else?!

Secondly, when the burgers did arrive they looked and smelt great but the meat was clearly not the best as the flavours were lacking. It took a lot of extra sauces to make it taste great.

Overall market hall is a great location for a meal or just for drinks, the easy option to order via a QR code on your table makes for less fuss queuing up. The beers were London city prices - but I guess that’s just the premium for eating/drinking at a nice place now…

Would have given it five stars if we had all just eaten pizzas instead of the...

Shelter hall is a great venue which offers incredible quality food but it unfortunately has one huge issue which has stopped me giving it 5 stars.

We visited on a Friday afternoon around 3pm. It was a very sunny day and the outside of the venue was full and the inside was probably at about 20%. We sat down, ordered our food and drinks. Within minutes our first dish arrived, beautifully presented, cooked perfectly. Then our second meal arrived after about 10 minutes. At this point the first dish is nearly gone and the 2nd got devoured quickly. Just as we FINISHED all the food our first drinks arrived, after about 25mins from the order being placed. As the drinks had taken so long and still not arrived during the 2nd dish we ordered a single pint of coke because we were so thirsty and thought the first drinks were slow due to them being cocktails. Oh boy we were wrong. We finished our food, and our first tiny cocktails (they really aren't worth the price for what you get), ordered pudding finished that. And waited. At this point we are both super thirsty and still nothing. We waited HALF AN HOUR after we ordered a single pint of coke. In the end I had to go and ask someone because we needed to leave and after another 5 mins they brought over the coke which was 90% ice, downed it and left.

I'm not sure if they had staff issues or if this is the norm for here, but they need to work something out. There was no option on the online menu for just water and we couldn't flag any staff down to ask for some as most of them were outside. If you visit here I suggest placing and order for drinks before even looking at the food, then order your food separately to ensure you have drinks with your meal.

Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever go back here, as this was so frustrating. The food was excellent though, so if you go just order your...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shelter Hall and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. The cuisine at this establishment is top-notch, offering a wide range of delectable dishes that are sure to satisfy any palate.

One of the highlights of my meal was the Bao Bun Chicken. The combination of tender chicken, fluffy bao bun, and flavorful toppings created a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. It was a true delight to bite into each mouthful.

Another standout dish was the Dumpling Goya Chicken. The dumplings were expertly crafted, with a perfect balance of filling and wrapper. The chicken filling was juicy and well-seasoned, and the accompanying Goya sauce added a tangy and refreshing twist to the dish.

Aside from the exceptional cuisine, Shelter Hall also boasts an impressive selection of cocktails. I had the pleasure of trying three of their signature cocktails and each one was a unique and delicious creation. The mixologists at Shelter Hall are true masters of their craft, expertly combining flavors and ingredients to create cocktails that are both visually stunning and incredibly tasty.

Overall, my dining experience at Shelter Hall was nothing short of exceptional. The cuisine was outstanding, with each dish showcasing the skill and creativity of the chefs. The selection of cocktails was equally impressive, offering a variety of options to suit every taste. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines good cuisine and a great selection, Shelter Hall is definitely...
