I’ve been a patron here for about 35 years and I’ve always enjoyed a tasty vegetarian breakfast. These days I live in Orlando, Florida but I always stop by the Bystander Cafe when I’m visiting my home town. Big portions, modest prices, friendly staff, tasty food, super clean environment and conveniently located opposite Brighton Station… what else do you want from a breakfast? āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø

Best breakfast place I've ever been too, friend and I have the full English and it was so good. eggs and sausage were cooked to perfection. We stayed for two nights in Brighton and came back the next day it was that good. Very popular with people as you can see! But never uncomfortably crowded , we always were able to walk in and get a table

There were no guests except for me despite that this case is just beside the station. Coffee was derived with a large mug but its taste wasn't good. I wanted to have a nice coffee even if it was small. There are a lot of cafes near the station. You have to wisely choose one so that you can take nice coffee break.

By far the worst hot drink I’ve ever had in my entire life. I got a large chai latte with oat milk for Ā£3.90 and I’m absolutely disappointed. The drink tasted like diluted coffee. It was absolutely weak. A waste of my money. No spice or flavour. A poor quality drink. It tasted like hot milk with a sprinkle of cinnamon. The Aldi ready made coffee sachets tastes better than this. It was my first time visiting the cafe. I stopped by as I was on the go and needed a quick caffeine boost. I should have read the other reviews before stopping by. My first and last time going there. Their menu is overpriced for the quality. I’m all for supporting small local businesses but you’re better off going to a CaffĆØ Nero or Costa coffee for a good quality drink. Please avoid this place to avoid disappointment if you want a hot drink. Currently making my way to another cafe to get a proper hot drink. Again,...

Customers prior to us were allowed to change their order with a full English breakfast but we were told they are too busy and not changing orders. Maybe only changed for locals? We only wanted to take mushrooms and tomatoes off for another item to stop food waste as we simply didn't eat the tomatoes or mushrooms. When we were sat eating our breakfast another member of staff from the kitchen quite rudely pushed a customer out of the way from the que not asking politely whether they could just move to the side so she could get back into the kitchen. Manners cost nothing and running a cafe needs good customer service. Massive shame as the food and coffee was really good quality and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Maybe just a bad day for the staff but can't say we'd return as it was quite...

Went in on Saturday around 11am for breakfast with a mate, the English breakfasts and a mug of tea were exactly what we expected, spot on!

Having read other reviewers that moan on about a Chai latte this, and over priced that, and ā€œnot good vibesā€ need to reflect on their expectations. This is a standard cafe, it’s not claiming to be a fancy coffee shop that specialises in fashionable concoctions, it’s also next to a station in a major city, it’s not going to be budget priced, as for vibes, it’s not a hipster...
