If you're looking for a cozy and charming cafe with delicious treats at great prices, look no further than Cafe at the Walls. My partner and I stumbled upon this hidden gem during our recent visit to Chester, and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience. One of the highlights of our visit was the incredible ice cream. The flavors were all so tempting that it was hard to choose, but we ended up trying the salted caramel and the raspberry sorbet, and both were absolutely divine. The ice cream was rich and creamy, with just the right balance of sweetness and flavor. We were pleasantly surprised at how affordable the prices were, too - it's rare to find such high-quality ice cream at such reasonable prices. But the ice cream wasn't the only thing that impressed us. The cafe itself is cozy and welcoming, with a rustic charm that perfectly matches its location right by the city walls. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was quick and efficient. All in all, we had a wonderful experience at Cafe at the Walls and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great cafe in Chester. Whether you're in the mood for ice cream, coffee, or a light meal, this place has something for everyone. Don't miss out on the opportunity to visit - you won't be disappointed!

Lovely cafe, lovely welcoming friendly staff, 😊 We came here to avoid the usual breakfast places and support local businesses. Service was lovely and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Didn't wait too long for out breakfast, husband had a traditional breakfast and I had scrambled egg on toast with a side of mushrooms. The portions were quite big and honestly I couldn't eat all mine, size of the breakfast cannot complain at all, my only issue was the scrambled egg was too wet/ not firm enough for my liking. But that said it was tasty so thats my own preference on the consistency of it. I had flavoured tea which was yummy too. If you are more than 3 or 4 I would recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment as they are quite a small cafe. Thank you 😊

A proper cafe serving traditional food at good prices. Hidden away just inside in the walls near to the River Dee, Cafe at The Walls is a place you should definitely seek out. It’s a small, cosy cafe situated at the end of old town houses in Lower Bridge Street. There is short stay parking bay’s near by and blue badge parking. However, there does not appear to be wheelchair access to the cafe. Very welcoming, prompt service and a great English breakfast to set you up for the day. Recommended .

The below post from 'Helene' is an attempt by the owner of this business to hide honest reviews made by multiple people recently, particularly those relating to the bullying of a young employee who has been left with no choice but to resign.

I personally witnessed one member of staff directly bullying and embarrassing a younger member of staff in front of customers. Other people have obviously witnessed this as well (see trip advisor). In response my wife, after airing her concerns, has received a number of accusations from the owner of the business accusing her of knowing the girl and the girls family and all of this despite initially offering a refund for the poor meal we paid for. The refund was then withheld; reason stated for this was because I reviewed her business based on my honest experience. This of course says it all.

Making up reviews/asking people to review to deflect the truth is a low point for a business that is in denial.

The food is poor, the atmosphere is tense and the bullying lady carries drinks round by the rim of the glass for some extra...

I was visiting this place on a sunny day walk along the city wall. As a big fan for Marshfield ice cream I walked in but was very disappointed with this service and food quality this small cafe provided. Because of the high review ratings, I got one chocolate cake, American coffee as well as two scoops of my favorite ice cream. And that was one the worst dining experience I've had in the UK. The ice cream was frozen with some sour taste, the cone which I paid extra to get was musty, while the cake was stale like it's placed there for at least 5 days already. Everything was of inferior quality but pricey. In addition, the staff prepared the food just grabbed the cone and the cake after handling with money, and thus food hygiene was lacking. I have no idea how would people give this place such a high rating. For me it's a...
