On Saturday 29th July myself 2 friends and 2 family members attended Chester for a night out as we have done many many times before. We went to the eagle, the kings head the bear and billet ( where we had a fabulous meal and a few drinks ) from there we said good bye to some friends and crossed the road to the cross keys inn (also been here on numerous occasions ) the door man greeted us on entry in his usual pleasant way and we went to the bar to order. The boy ( is the only way I can describe him ) behind the bar asked what we wanted and my husband started to reply, he got his lager and another chap was starting to get mine when the 'boy' decided he had changed his mind about serving us. When asked why. His response was. 'I don't serve gang's hardly a gang I said. Myself my husband. My son and his wife and 2 close friends. He then changed his mind and said...... 'well he's drunk pointing at my friend Bruce Jones who reiterated with myself and the rest of us that he certainly was not. He changed it again to 'well he's got tattoos' pointing then to my son ( a father of 2 girls, worked all his life, works tirelessly with a cancer charity raising copious amounts of money and generally a good guy ) this boy behind the bar was ridiculously so out of order and INCREDIBLY RACIST he also has no idea how to run a bar or treat people with respect. Guess that would explain why the pub was empty on a race day. Myself and my SMALL party of friends and family are absolutely desgusted with the way we were treated. So if you have tattoos, be aware that you will NOT be allowed in this pub...... unless he's changed his mind, like he did 3 Times...
