Rude staff, zero manners, and a manager who seriously needs a reality check.
We visited this so-called “India restaurant” thinking we’d try their vegetable biryani. Apparently, just ordering biryani pissed them off— the staff acted cold and clearly weren’t happy we didn’t go all out. Still, we decided to give them another chance and came back planning to have a full meal. BIGGEST mistake.
The moment we walked in, the manager had the audacity to tell us we must order two main courses or they wouldn’t serve us. Excuse me? Since when did restaurants start policing what paying customers choose to eat? And the tone? Completely unprofessional and dripping with attitude.
As vegetarians, we carefully picked what we wanted. But no — they kept pushing us to order more else they will not consider. I was even open to trying other dishes, but their arrogant, rude, and downright disgusting behavior ruined everything.
If you can’t treat your customers with basic respect, you don’t deserve to run a restaurant. People are paying to eat — not to deal with your inflated egos and garbage attitude. Get...
Read moreCelebrating a friend's birthday and we were given a very warm and courteous greeting as we entered. We were led to a lovely alcove with fantastic decor and seating arrangements. The food is of an extremely high standard. Nothing was to much trouble for the waiter. I had lamb madras and it was spicy hot and just as one would expect. The nann bread was gigantic and came hung in a rack type affair. The portion size was perfect. I am oversized and suited me fine. A visit to the toilet and was greeted with a very nice clean bathroom and a fresh aroma of scent. To finish off the management provided a spectacle of indoor flares and a lovely plate of cake and ice-cream for the birthday guest. There was more than enough to be shared. So I did get to taste the yummy chocolate too. Compared to competitors I would say for decor and service and food it would rate higher although I have had pleasant experiences elsewhere. However for comfort the heating was on fully and was nice and warm. All in all, this restaurant in now high on my list of favourites and will be back...
Read moreThe Bangladesh restaurant - That’s what the name should be. The food was not bad and quantity was also good. The service was fast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rusty Black and Golden ambience was unique. Pricing was okay. But the one thing I didn’t like is it was missing authentic Indian taste. It is NOWHERE CLOSE to Indian taste. It is 100% similar to all the other ‘so called’ Indian restaurants in Scarborough or any other small towns in UK which are not Indian at all. I would love to go again if they proud themselves selling Bangladeshi food. Because that’s the Typical taste of Bangladesh restaurant.
PS: they don’t serve the massive family naan nowadays as they used to do before. They serve nice Ferrero-Rocher chocolate...
