I was immediately struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were as friendly as can be, eager to help us find the perfect brew to accompany our visit. And, might I add, they were just as delighted to see our furry friend enjoying the place!

Read moreDropped in for a visit after making the trip up to watch my local club Rushall play Buxton at Silverlands and this was my first point of call.
Opposite the church, its a tidy little microesque bar. Walking in on a cool October day it was really warming (literally) to have the fire crackling away at the one end.
At the other is the bar, with a comic book littered wall of inages on the one side. At first I thought the choice was a little limited, with 4 different tipples to choose from but I went for a different one each time and they were all brilliant choices.
Coming in not long after opening time the bar filled up quickly with easygoing regulars, people visiting the area and a few Buxton fans.
The music played at an eqsy volume was exceptional also and I think later at night this takes more centre stage with a DJ Booth within the pub itself.

Read moreIf you're visiting Buxton for the first time, this great little bar is well worth a visit. Situated right opposite the market square it is popular with both locals & real ale drinkers alike. It's only small, but very cosy & always warm (wood burning fire) This has become a firm favourite on our frequent excursions to Buxton. Usually you will find a good selection of cask ales on tap, one or two pale ales, a stout/porter & a tradional bitter.
