"A Haven for Ale Lovers and Their Furry Friends"

The Ale Stop in Buxton! This gem of a pub is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking a haven to unwind, enjoy good tunes with great company, and indulge in an impressive selection of hand-pumped ales, ciders, and bottled lagers.

I was immediately struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were as friendly as can be, eager to help us find the perfect brew to accompany our visit. And, might I add, they were just as delighted to see our furry friend enjoying the place!

The music selection is top-notch, with a curated playlist that effortlessly transitions from laid-back indie vibes to upbeat anthems. It's the perfect soundtrack for a relaxing afternoon or an evening of merriment with friends.

Now, let's talk about the drinks menu – oh boy, are you in for a treat! The Ale Stop boasts an impressive range of hand-pumped ales and ciders that will satisfy even the most discerning palates. From classic favorites to innovative craft brews, there's something for everyone. And if you're not an ale fan, don't worry – they've got a solid selection of bottled lagers to keep you happy!

In short, The Ale Stop is a fantastic place to relax, socialise, and enjoy some exceptional beverages with your favorite humans (and furry friends!) by your side. If you're looking for a Buxton institution that embodies the perfect blend of warmth, wit, and wonderful drinks,...

Dropped in for a visit after making the trip up to watch my local club Rushall play Buxton at Silverlands and this was my first point of call.

Opposite the church, its a tidy little microesque bar. Walking in on a cool October day it was really warming (literally) to have the fire crackling away at the one end.

At the other is the bar, with a comic book littered wall of inages on the one side. At first I thought the choice was a little limited, with 4 different tipples to choose from but I went for a different one each time and they were all brilliant choices.

Coming in not long after opening time the bar filled up quickly with easygoing regulars, people visiting the area and a few Buxton fans.

The music played at an eqsy volume was exceptional also and I think later at night this takes more centre stage with a DJ Booth within the pub itself.

Thanks also to all involved for running out the pub to tell me I'd rather drunkenly forgot my bag 😅. Massively...

If you're visiting Buxton for the first time, this great little bar is well worth a visit. Situated right opposite the market square it is popular with both locals & real ale drinkers alike. It's only small, but very cosy & always warm (wood burning fire) This has become a firm favourite on our frequent excursions to Buxton. Usually you will find a good selection of cask ales on tap, one or two pale ales, a stout/porter & a tradional bitter. Most of which are locally sourced, you wont find any multi-national beers sold here. If you're looking to spend a quiet hour amongst freindly people you'll be hard pressed to find better bar. Highly...

Fabulous little micropub just off the main road in Buxton. Good selection of ciders and beers that are well kept by the efficient and friendly staff. Brilliant atmosphere, cosy and friendly. Very dog friendly. If you like beer & dogs, you need to try this place ! Sadly I'm allergic to dogs so can never stay for more than about half an hour before I need some fresh air. Always pop in though when in Buxton !!

We pretty much found this gem by accident but what a happy accident! Great little bar with a good selection of drinks and tunes! The music was a key factor in keeping us there. It’s only a small bar and the regulars were friendly and chatty. Recommended and looking forward to going back when we’re next in Buxton.
