OK this is a very personal one ,this house used to be the boarding house for the school that was attached to it ,back in the 80's the school was Normanton and the house shown was St Cuthberts ,a boys only boarding house where about 20 young men yr 4,5,6 lived during term time with next door St John's housing the middle school boys ,my most favourite of memories surround this building it was very friendly always warm my house Mother at the time was MO a beautiful lady a friendly Mum to us all she know how to hold us to account a real no nonsense lady who treated us all fairly, listened to our complaints and a shoulder to cry on should you need it she had the nack of getting 20 kids out of bed in the morning using tactics like pulling off your sheets to spraying you with cold water I pray shes still with us and still happy I for 1 miss her as do all the other boys who called her Mum for...

The 'Serps'.... as we locals call it....is a circular riverside walk of about half a mile, on a good path, suitable for wheelchairs and prams etc, beginning and ending on the opposite side of the road from the main gardens car park. For the more agile a set of steps leads to St. John's Road and t'other side of that is another path leading to Gadley Woods. It's a good dog walk too.
