Tabula Rasa bar — Restaurant in Leeds

Update: glad to see how much this bar cares by not even contacting to apologize or anything after 2 months. Poor quality of staff. Don't entertain them.

We were appalled at the treatment we received in there. We wondered in off the street as my girlfriend needed to use the toilet facilities (due to a hidden disability) and the gentleman with the spikey blonde mullet greeted us. We informed him that we was just there to use the toilet and we stood out the way whilst we waited to use the toilet as it was in use. The bar was busy and only had one table left which we was out of the way of and another set of customers walked in wanting a table. The blonde spiky mullet man then asked in front of the whole bar if we were wanting drinks after using the toilet which we responded no, he then rudely responded that we can't use the toilets unless we were customers, the bar is a small intimate venue where everyone could hear him, so my girlfriend stormed out embarrassed at the time and the mullet man didn't even care to question if she had any sort of disability that may be causing her to desperately need the toilet. He was rude and kicked us out embarrassing us Infront of all of the customers in there at the time and put us off ever coming in this venue if this is how you treat members of the public, customers or not. I could understand this decision if we were disruptive and making a fuss but we stood out of the way in order to not cause any fuss but alas the blonde spikey mullet man decided to make a fuss. Do not come here as you'll only be treated nicely cause they're wanting you're money not because they're nice people. Well, at least the spikey blonde mullet guy is not.

We went into another bar down the road where they happily let us use the toilets and then had a drink with them out of spite of tabula Rasa and their poor service after this other bar had been so nice to us. Screw...

Weird experience with a staff member behaving rude & offended when I went to sit on a table that was empty. I’d waited and they’d cleared one that I didn’t wish to sit on so asked if I could take another, they both said yes but one said in a rude / snarky way ‘Normally people wait until we’ve wiped them’ without making eye contact while wiping the table & being in a huff.

I asked if it’s a problem to sit there - and he said ‘No’ but he seemed tense and upset, it was a bit of a tantrum vibe. I asked in a neutral way if it’s a problem as he seemed upset about this & I didn’t know why but he said no but seemed still upset and the demeanour was strange and tense, and not apologetic about initial rudeness.

he was curt- possibly someone having a bad day or in need of a break, he went for a cigarette after. You go out for a good atmosphere & and you don’t expect someone in service industry to be so strange for the sake of someone simply moving to sit at a table.

this was weird and unprofessional not what you’d expect at high price point cocktail place, esp given reviews, this just lowers the atmosphere and sense of welcome with incidents like this. I would have left but my friend wanted to try this place.

I wont return and wouldn’t recommend this place after this strange incident as this wasn’t a welcoming experience.

the music was also a bit generic house and loud.

There are many cocktail places in Leeds to try and this isn’t what I would recommend for a good experience across the board.

There’s no menu online for drinks but all are around £9-£12, fine but given the experience and overall vibe - not...

I've been to this bar a few times over the last couple of years and have been disappointed with the service every single visit. I would never have returned after the first visit if it weren't for the people I visited with wanting to go.

Firstly, it's very clear that the bar prioritises its friends over other paying customers, as they are served before anyone else and they don't seem to care how long they keep anyone else waiting. We very nearly walked out of our last visit as it took 20 minutes before anyone even came to our table and with no apology. We gave the place another chance for one drink only.

The drinks are mediocre at best, and some of them were very bitter and artificial tasting - the balance could do with being looked at again for the prices charged.

The atmosphere is a strange one; because it's largely full of the bar's mates, you feel like you're intruding in a space meant for them. It's also not particularly pleasant when it's sunny outside to have the bifold doors opened and people's cigs and vapes blowing back at you the whole time.

Won't be returning again, not even...
