👏 A marketing job done well 👏
📍Berry Street, Liverpool City Centre
A few weeks ago, one of my favourite restaurants in Liverpool @chamber36 announced they were updating their menu and taking a few of my fave dishes off the current one. That of course meant I had to schedule in an emergency visit so I could have their Thai Green Curry one last time, and say my goodbyes to it 🥲
💰 We ordered the lunch menu which offers either 3 small plates or a starter and a main for £15. Such a great offer.
To start: 🇻🇳 Vietnamese Spring Rolls - Mum’s favourite. They’re so crispy and full of pork, prawn and vermicelli noodles.
🌶️ Salt and Pepper Tofu - Full of flavour, and each piece was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Delicious.
The main event: 🇹🇭 x2 Thai Green Curries with Fried Rice - I got tofu and Mum got chicken. Mine had loads of fresh veggies that were cooked perfectly, and Mum’s had loads of chicken in it. The sauce was sweet, creamy and perfect… I’m going to miss it - can you tell? @chamber36liverpool I will gladly accept the recipe if you’re willing to share it please 😂
💓 I appreciate the marketing the restaurant did to get me in the door one final time before the curries (and pad Thais) go off the menu. Well done, and thank you!😂
😋 I will admit that although I’ll miss the Thai curry, I am very excited to visit again soon to pick my new favourite dish off of their new menu. They are going to be focusing more on their Chinese dishes moving forward which I’m confident will be 10/10. Watch this space for that review. Their new menu will be live from Wednesday if you want to get your visit booked in. If you visit, let me know what’s good. 😍

Read moreNever leave reviews but this was so bad I decided to. Ages to be greeted, left stood around waiting for about ten minutes in everyone's way by the door before being acknowledged. Person who met us eventually (only did so because we made eye contact but you could tell that annoyed her by her loud sigh) was rude and dismissive, actually sounded like they were trying to convince us to go somewhere else. Once seated everything after took just as long, drinks order and then arriving was about twenty minutes. Ten minutes later our food order is taken, no question of allergies btw, we didn't have any so no major issue, but having worked in hospitality this is standard to ask about so that's worrying. Starters were small, dry and overcooked. Mains were incorrect so they were replaced with the correct greasy, room temperature and underwhelming dishes, which I assume had been sat on the pass for ages waiting to go out, as when we said we had the wrong dishes the correct ones arrived seconds later. The wrong order we were given first looked better, should have kept it. Again it took a long time before the table was cleared, even longer for the bill after asking for it. Could have just been a bad/hectic day for them so could be a one off, but that was definitely my...
Read moreFood was lovely and no serious complaints with service, our main issue comes from paying the bill. We booked with firsttable.com which offers 50% off the bill. On the menu three sections not included are separate and highlighted, and were pointed out by our waitress. Unfortunately, the section titled ‘mains’, which we were informed was included in the deal, had a dish titled ‘siu mei rice - 1,2 or 3 roast’ which wasn’t part of the deal. While I appreciate it has the word roast in the description, it was not part of the roast meats section we were told not to order off and so we ended up ordering it for £22 expecting the final price to be £11. Our waitress who knew we were doing the first table deal didn’t say anything when we ordered and it was only when prompted after getting a final bill larger than expected that she told us it wasn’t included. It’s a shame as the food was nice and we otherwise would’ve returned but this oversight is extremely frustrating as we were told that the only thing we couldn’t order from the main menu was the steak - and then got hit with a change of story (not particularly politely) only after everything was finished. Not very...
