I came across this restaurant one day, I went in and sat to order food, the boss was at the counter and gave me a shy glaring look. A gaunt very young yet polite waitress took my order. I ordered the Kurdish Lamb Shank Kuzi but I was served neck Kuzi instead- it had hardly meat on it. Opposite me two men ordered food but sent it to kitchen twice then boss went to their table they had heated conversation- this was not good sign to me. Anyhow; today is Wednesday and I happen to be passing by the area and I popped in again thinking to try their kebab as it was early around just before mid-day. I ordered lamb chops, I was served nice hot lentil soup and salad, the salad is of poor quality served in a tiny plate. After few minutes I notice the boss walking in the restaurant with two shopping bags full of grocery, I was bit bemused as just few minutes ago he was at the counter with the same demeaner a week ago. I waited for my order but a thought crossed my mind that the restaurant did not have lamb chops and he just popped out and brought some meat. My suspicion could not have been wrong; I got my dish of lamb chops, uncooked, fatty, griddled, worst of all, the chef could not even cut the ribs long bit from the chops to make it sophisticated. It was placed on cooking pan as it was brought from butcher. To cut a long story short, it was a poor quality uncooked and done in haste, not even grilled but cooked a pan I guess. I was very disappointed. I perhaps ate two and just left the rest. Since I left the restaurant I did not feel well and vomited in the evening. When I was going the boss sat in corner eating his lunch and avoided contacting eyes, he knew I was not satisfied. This place can prison some one day, I warn not to go there but if you go then...
Read more"I used to be a regular Arbil when it first opened. Back then, it had a fantastic atmosphere, and the owner was very welcoming. He would offer free soup, olives, and various sauces bread before the main meal. Unfortunately, as the business has grown, the quality has declined significantly. The owner has become stingy and greedy, now using cheaper ingredients which has negatively impacted the taste of the food.
I recently visited with my children and grandchildren, and it was a disappointing experience. Despite always tipping generously, I found myself being overcharged by fifteen pounds, and the staff were very confrontational when I questioned it. The food quality was terrible, and it was clear they were looking for ways to add on extra charges.
I strongly advise against visiting this place, as they might do to others what they did to me. It's a shame to see how far they've fallen, and I hope this review serves as a warning to avoid this restaurant...
Read moreI went with my husband yesterday as a little evening date and I was very shocked and disappointed in how I saw some of the waiters was dressed, revealing all her lower body parts and walking around the tables with her behind stuck out despite the majority of the customers was couples with their husbands, families with kids and or just men in groups. My whole day was ruined and I’m sure as the other lady’s that was with their husbands to see the unprofessional behaviour and untrained dress code around the restaurant despite it being a halal, Muslim Arabic restaurant. Very disappointed and made me feel sick. Please whoever manages the restaurant give a modest and respectful dress code to your waiter if you’re going to only hire girls and knowing the majority of your customers are going to be Muslim couple and families. Other than that the food was good but under what expense after...
