Food here was good, wine very nice and we came during the 50% offer.
However, there was some pretty poor customer service. We had our dinner and left around 9pm. Later that night, I realised I had dropped my hat on the floor around our table. I rang first thing the next morning when the restaurant reopened, to which the lady said 'there's nothing here behind the bar'. I asked her to please check by our table (given it's quite a small object and perhaps nobody else used the table after us) but she refused and said it would have been handed in.
Since it was a not too cheap gift and I live nearby, and I was certain I had dropped it there, I decided to go check myself. 30 mins later I walk in and find it exactly where I was sitting on the floor. Additionally, the restaurant was completely empty, so the lady wasn't even remotely busy, just couldn't be bothered to go and check for me. She didn't even notice me enter the restaurant and go upstairs.
Customer service goes a long way and tiny requests like this would be useful to do. I would be far more inclined to return had the lady on the phone found my hat rather than leaving me unnecessarily...
Read moreWe booked out the roof terrace for a gathering of about 30 people. As we were trying to coordinate a large group, we must have been quite annoying in terms of confirming numbers, food orders, arrival times etc - but they couldn't have handled it any better. We even cancelled a batch of finger food on the day and that was no bother for them.
A lovely space, the drinks were great and the food was also very good (and exactly what we wanted from finger food).
However, it really was the staff that made it. Clio was working when I came in to view the venue, and she was superb. Couldn't have been any more helpful so I ended up booking there and then, despite having other venues that I wanted to see.
On the night, Martina was there, and again, her and the team essentially just told us to go and have fun and they'd make sure everything was perfect - which it was. From the music, the service, the atmosphere. An honourable mention to Ivano too - who again, was utterly fabulous.
The event was 30 people in their mid-40s who haven't seen each other for 30 years, and it went brilliantly - mainly due to the venue and the...
Read moreI'm not quite sure how, but I ended up paying £16.90 for two pints last night, one of which was a London Pride... if that isn't a mistake, then it feels a bit like robbery, even in 2024. I've no idea on the actual cost per pint, frankly I was too stunned to ask in the moment, but let's make some assumptions for the sake of argument. Surely a London Pride can't be more than £6.90? That leaves the second pint at £10 minimum. There's no beer that can be sold at £10 a pint. I completely understand the need to keep businesses afloat, and I want to support the hospitality industry as best I can, but I'm not gonna have much money left to spend if that's what two pints will cost me. I don't want this to come across as an attack, I just wanted to flag it. That's not a reason not to come here. Interior and vibe wise, this a perfectly nice pub in an ideal location (a stone's throw from Waterloo station), and the roof garden is a real treat, even in the winter. I haven't ever eaten here, so I can't honestly score them on the food (hence the average 3 stars), but what I did see coming out from the kitchen looked pretty...
