Went here as it was highly reviewed and close to the station. The environment was ok with Cafe like setup but extremely disappointed with their service and food. I am not sure whether it's because all the staff we faced didn't speak or understood much english but we got a rude treatment majority of our time there. We were asked to wait for a table where one staff was eating and after his food they didn't clean the table much. After we got that table a waitress (maybe Italian or eastern European) came over with a smug expression and from her tone she wanted to us to hurry up. Also while she was arranging the cutlery after a starter (we had to use the same ones) she dropped them onto my thigh and from her broken English she somehow considered it was my fault. There was also another old man (same who was eating at our table) who came over to take the drinks order. He was friendly but still he had lack of proficiency with English and he had confusion surrounding simple bits like whether garlic bread were extra or complementary (they were extra) or in regards to providing a card receipt (their original receipt is hand written and not that legible). Then came the food which one was Chicken breast with vegetables.Everything was quite overcooked where the chicken was hard, dry and vegetables tasted like it was all deep fried in used oil. I would definitely advice for the staff over there to have better training on service side especially basic...

Schifoso! If I could give this place no stars I would. This is honestly the WORST restaurant I have ever been to. The waiter ushered the 4 of us to our table with extremely bad grace and we had menus shoved at us. The waitress was pleasant but otherwise we were totally ignored - atmosphere also quite soulless. The food was DREADFUL. We purposely chose typical dishes that should have been easy for them to get right. However, the lasagna al forno was utterly tasteless and was basically some thrown-together pasta and cheese (rubbery) and a few flecks of meat which I pushed around my plate. The mixed salad was like something out of the 1970s - a bit of old shredded iceberg and a tired tomato. No presentation or effort was put in at all and no-one would dare to serve food like that in Italy where we go regularly. How they had the gall to charge us over £45 per person astounds me. I wish I had complained more at the time as they only refunded one lasagna - mine. House wine expensive and not very imaginative. Do not go - it is an utter travesty and shameful that they are allowed to get away with it....

I went to restaurant, as was meant to wait for a friend. Its been very kind of the host to let me in, as they had tables booked for later on, but that was the only one pleasant thing during my experience. I ordered a soup, but before I could order my drink the server left. After another several minutes another waiter came and asked would I like the drink, as he noticed I haven't had any. I ordered soup which took rather some time to arrive. As my friend was running late for the show I didn't order anything else and asked for the bill. This same man, who sat me started huffing and puffing, as I originally said my friend will join! In what world server make the customer feel, like they have to explain themselves? Once I got the bill there was service charge included, however I sis not really receive any service, and in all honesty I would not recommend to go there. There are plenty restaurants nearby where a customer feel welcomed and valued. It was one of the worst experiences I had so far and a perfect example of rude and inconsiderate staff. 2 stars for the leek&potato soup, as it...

Walked in and were greeted by friendly staff, who offered us a table that was free for the next two hours as we had no reservation. Ordered a pizza, which I expected to rival the large pizzas we get back home but with a thicker base and lots of tomato sauce. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which apparently prompted the staff to make comments in Italian. The pizza had a decently thick base and the toppings and sauce were delicious, but the size of the pizza was disappointing, especially when the price was higher than a regular pizza back home. Wait time was also quite long, as one of our party eats a little slower, so we ended up occupying the table to the very last minute. The wine was good, though.

This is a wonderful little hole in the wall. The food was wonderful. I had the monkfish with clams and my friend had the spaghetti Vongole. Our kids split a spaghetti bolognese (as they do). All dishes were top notch and full of flavour without being over seasoned. The side spinach and rocket salad were equally delicious. We felt bad as the restaurant was quite empty despite the good food at a reasonable price. Vandals had spray painted the outside awning, which makes it slightly less attractive. Don’t let the exterior fool you - they can cook !

On our way back to our hotel, I wanted to find a locals place. This was the exact spot we were looking for. The mushroom ravioli was the freshest ingredients I ever tasted. The onions were cooked perfectly, which they added a nice crunch. The risotto prescatore was just the right amount of seafood to take this one over the top. Finished off with a piece of incredible tiramisu. This place was all we were looking for. Nice wine list. The waiters were all great and very attentive to their customers. Open since 1946, this place is a gem!
