Went to Backyard Comedy Club show today. The actual show was 10/10 but Daniel who proudly boasted that he owned the venue was EXTREMELY rude!
I spent £47 ordering food at the bar. Plus an additional £20+ on cocktails. Whilst walking back to my chair someone bounced into me knocking my chips, samosas and half of my nachos onto the floor. I had just waited 20 minutes for this food so as you can imagine, I was rather annoyed!
I went back to the bar to ask if they could replace the chips and samosas, after checking with the manager the bar lady said I'd need to pay again. I asked to speak with the manager she advised he was the blonde haired man at the booth.
I approached him, explained the situation and he said "well what do you want me to do about it?" reiterating that I'd need to pay again. He stated it's not his fault and that I should go to the person who knocked the food out of my hand and ask him to pay. I asked as a good will gesture could he not just simply replace the chips and samosas, he replied why should he be put out of pocket.
I could have paid again but it was the principle of the matter.
I just found him extremely rude. It was my first time at the venue and that experience has put me off. I advised I would be making a complaint and he said "do what you like, I'm not bothered". Overall, just a very...
Read moreSeriously urging you to not waste your time or your money the comedy was sub par, the place was filthy, toilets disgusting, drinks were expensive and we were charged an extra 3£ each as a group of 5 for being 30mins early as it wasnt early enough 45mins early is a must or you will be charged there is no lee way. Enjoy wasting 45 mins of your time sitting in an empty room with nothing going on until the show starts. To top it off staff are extremely rude and you will be pounced upon for even putting your hand im your pocket to touch your phone like your some sort of criminal. I think you will also find playing the guessing game and assuming all bad reviews came from the same group is silly. As you can see i was in a group of 5 not 3 you have at lest 7 disgruntled guest. The correct way to go about things would be to apologise for your sub standered service. After all the customer is also always right.
id suggest check with your bar staff too as they were also questioning your proffesniality on these matter with i quote "dont no what stick has got up his ass , hes been rude to people all day" to further my points please check the previous negative comments which reffer to the same problems as i have and consider changing your cash only late fee i dont think hm revenue and customs...
Read moreBought tickets for Saturday night comedy. The ticket clearly states that you need to arrive early, or risk paying a late fee. So we arrived early but there were already no available tables to sit at. After collecting our tickets and getting a drink we were then forced to just awkwardly stand by the bar until the staff let us in at 7.45 to sit down for the comedy, which had been billed to be starting at 7.30!
Once seated, we then had to wait a further 15 minutes before the MC came on stage at 8. By now we'd been in the venue a good hour, so we're ready to finally have a laugh. The MC was average, she was loud enough already but she still shouted down the microphone at the audience.
There were 2 25 min intervals for 4 comedians, which seemed excessive, especially considering they tell you to get there so early. This is clearly a ploy to get people to spend more money on food and drinks. It's cheeky, considering the tickets are already £12.
All the comedy acts were average apart from the headliner of Neil Delamere, he was fab and saved the night from being a complete flop if I'm honest.
Wouldn't bother coming back unless it was a real favourite comedian I was desperate to see. I'd recommend the Angel comedy club for a cheaper and better...
