This is proper, old-fashioned fishmongering, with an emphasis on freshness and cleanliness, and a great knowledge of and passion for product. You'll also get great service and feel truly welcome.

I went here because I had a hankering for jellied eels and was keen to find a local source for my shop. Customers weren't as keen on the idea, despite how good these are, but it's still my preferred place to buy them.

Barney's will take advance orders for most things you might need, so it's worth putting a call through to make sure you can get what you need when you want: they're busy and good stuff will go fast.

Excellent, I am a regular now! They have products that are very hard to find in London (at least in this area) and at very good price. The smoked salmon is both cheaper and much (like, much much much) better than the one in the high street supermarkets.

The fresh products are great (fresh salmon fillets, skate, langoustines, scallops - real big and nice scallops!). Of course the fresh products selection available on the day is very variable - which is a very good sign! Don't hesitate to ask the staff for anything as sometimes they have stock available but it's not on display. Also, you can order in advance, check their website.

Good range of frozen stuff as well.

Staff is just lovely and...

Their merchandise is good quality, but they don't hang around for their advertised closing on Saturdays, so had wasted journeys, the serving customer's attitude was in and out, the Son of the Boss looked and acted high and mighty and arrogant, why because I wanted to spend some money ? I had complained to other vendors nearby, so I assumed it led to his remark. I called 2 weeks later, but his Daddy refused to deliver. No wonder customers never showed up Saturdays towards the end, and my review is based on dealing in the fish trade over the years. The only star Boy Wonder deserves is near...
