I recently visited BÅkan 38 Bar for a night out, and I must say that my experience fell somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. While it had its highlights, there were aspects that left room for improvement.
Ambiance: The view from the 38th floor is undeniably impressive. The panoramic skyline of London adds a touch of magic to the ambiance. However, I found the interior a bit sterile, lacking the warmth and character I'd expect from a high-end bar. The seating arrangement was comfortable but not particularly inviting.
Service: The service was decent, but not exceptional. Our server was attentive, but the wait time for drinks and food was longer than expected, especially given the relatively modest crowd.
Drinks: BÅkan 38 Bar boasts an extensive cocktail menu, and while the drinks were well-crafted, they didn't stand out as remarkable. I expected a bit more creativity and flair in the mixology given the reputation of the place.
Price: It's worth noting that the prices here are on the higher side, which is expected for a rooftop bar in Canary Wharf. However, I would have been more comfortable with the pricing if the overall experience had been exceptional.
In summary, BÅkan 38 Bar offers a breathtaking view and has the potential to be a standout destination in the London bar scene. However, my visit left me with mixed feelings. While there were enjoyable aspects, it fell short of the high expectations I had. With some improvements in service efficiency and menu consistency, it could easily become a top-tier spot. If you're looking for a place with a view, it's worth a visit, but I'd recommend managing your...

Read moreIt was my birthday, I'd rather go somewhere else. I called to book, and confirmed via SMS.
I arrive and see my reservation cancelled, luckily there were only 2 of us and we find a place.
I didn't want to do anything special, the food is average, even if the price is high (£25), But it doesn't matter , The view was nice in the evening. The problem was that the place was dark, you needed the flashlight of your cell phone to eat.
At the end of everything, I asked for the bill, I was charged double for the items I ordered.
Unfortunately I noticed this after paying, but I am asking for a refund, and while I wait, two non-alcoholic apple drinks arrive, apologizing for the misunderstanding. In the meantime the refund never arrived, so I asked at the cashier and they told me that they offered me a prosecco...
For me it wasn't a question of money, but of respect... why pay for things we didn't order and apologize with apple juice?
I mean guys, be serious......
