I've never been to this place and usually wouldn't bother to drop a review but, as I was looking for places to eat, since I recently started working near by, I was having a look at the menu and, as an Italian, I was shocked by the fact that they don't use pork but they still calling their version of the carbonara "carbonara", which is a fake replica with turkey bacon! This is so wrong, it is way worse than putting cream over it! I am so annoyed I am not even bothered by the use of grana padano instead of pecorino and parmesan blended together (the original recipe comes with only pecorino but the mix works and it is the only thing you can twist a little bit)! All the other dishes in the menu, are phony as well of course, where they use beef sausages with friarielli and beef salami on diavola!... I watch my cousine being destroyed outside Italy over and over and now this?! This is definitely a new low! Especially due to the fact that the restaurant has 4.8 stars out of 5. If you don't eat pork or if you, due to your culture or religion, don't even handle it, that's fine but, don't open an Italian restaurant then, simple as that! Don't try to cook Italian dishes using the same names as the originals without the most important ingredient we use! This is terribly sad and a desperate attempt to achieve cultural appropriation and, basically, just a dud. I mean, you wouldn't open a sushi restaurant if you weren't planning to use fish, wouldn't you? This place should be definitely boycotted. Have...
Read moreI don’t know if I should tell about this fantastic Italian place... then they will be more popular On the other hand, they deserve all credit for making authentic Italian lunch food like panini, pizza and pasta. But not as many places do. This is built from the ground. The bread is just 😍 I can't stress enough how good the pizza is. You probably need to go to Napoli to find as good ones. Love the one with funghi and truffle oil... And the service so lovely. Always smiling despite busy lunch hours when hundred of construction workers come by to get good Italian lunch or an excellent espresso! The prices are reasonable despite the will to cook from more or less the ground. Downside? Close at 4pm and not open in the weekend :( Well done to the young team at Neama - the hidden gem in...
Read moreThe best place for lunch and coffee in Canary Wharf! It's a hidden gem. The prizes are really good and the staff is really friendly. I can especially recommend Calzone, it's delicious and you can order any pizza as Calzone. The coffee is amazing and it's the perfect addition to breakfast. I love that it's also a small shop and you can buy Italian pasta, they have my favourite brand which is difficult to get and much more expensive everywhere else. They also have a good selection of Italian cookies, I usually get delicious pistachio cookies. If you work in Canary Wharf or you love Italian cusine then you should definitely...
