Wifi: free to use, not reliable sometimes
Something Special about the cafe: (1) A cafe based in a white and black historical buildings with 174 years old. (2) Quite expertly crafted Italian espresso, very cool coffee machine; (3) For proper espresso, always a little glass of water and a piece of chocolate are provided;
Seating: 16-20 seats, quite small space inside but cosy and stylish decor, and they also have outdoor seatings.
Cost: A little more expensive than other independent coffee shop Espresso £2-£3.7 Coffee £2.2-£4.1
Ambiance: Good vibes, and the seats with glass windows are quite lovely, especially in a historical buildings.
What can be improved: no power outlets and quite noisy due to small space inside, so it is not friendly for remote workers but still good place for meeting friends or just enjoy your time with quality coffee and tasty bakery bites. But their staff could do better on friendliness and more diverse on the selection of bakery goods...
Read moreCame in to get a quick latte, admittedly with a couple of modifications (iced vanilla latte with oat milk, decaf). As an ex-barista myself, I don't usually order it that way if a cafe is busy, as I know it's a mouthful. Seeing as it was utterly dead, didn't think it would be an issue.
Didn't stop the two baristas manning the bar from acting like I just asked them to roast the coffee beans from scratch in front of me. Bug-eyed expressions of disbelief and smirks with a couple of "I can't remember all of that" type of comments thrown in, plus a send-off that seemed rather mocking.
Considering these are all modifications available for an extra charge, I'm not sure what the fuss was about -- £5.50 for a drink is expensive enough, not sure if good customer service is an extra charge on top of that?

Read moreI visited today just after 5pm and I fancied a coffee or tea but the barman said they don’t serve coffee or tea after 4:30pm. I would’ve accepted this as a non-problem but 10 minutes later a woman who was sat on the table next to us asked for tea at the bar and was served it immediately. When I queried why she was served tea after 4:30pm (and after I was told no hot drinks), I was told it was because that group had been there since before 4:30. Only then did he reluctantly offer a hot drink after calling it out.
If you have a rule to stop serving hot drinks at a certain time, stand by it. It’s incredibly rude to refuse me under this rule but then go against this same rule 10 minutes later.
