I visited this restaurant recently and while the food and drinks were generally fine, the service completely ruined the experience.
We ordered the all-you-can-eat hotpot set, and also added the £3.99 per person drink package, which clearly stated “unlimited refills” and “not to be shared.” The drink package listed three drink options, so we assumed we could try all three, as it’s supposed to be unlimited.
However, when we got the bill, we were shocked to see we were charged three times for the drink package. We politely asked the server why, and the response was incredibly defensive and dismissive. He told us that we were only allowed to refill the same drink, and because we tried all three, we were charged three separate times. This “rule” was never explained to us upon ordering, and there was absolutely no mention of this on the menu or on the iPad ordering system. It simply said “£3.99 unlimited drinks per guest .”
I told the server that I didn’t even mind paying the extra charge, but misleading your customers with vague or false wording is completely unacceptable. If there’s a limit to the drink selection or how refills work, it should be clearly stated up front.
Worse still, when I went to speak to the manager after paying, their attitude was just as poor—cold, dismissive, and clearly used to complaints like this. Instead of listening and acknowledging the confusion, they just brushed me off like they wanted me out of the restaurant.
The most frustrating part of all this is that we, as customers, did nothing wrong. We simply asked a fair question about the bill, and were treated as if we were causing trouble. Based on my experience and the many other reviews pointing out similar problems, it’s clear that the issue isn’t the customers—it’s the service culture of this restaurant from top to bottom.
Would I return? Absolutely not. And I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you’re okay with being...
Read moreOur group of 10 visited this restaurant today around 1:45 PM for their all-you-can-eat hotpot. Sadly, the experience was very disappointing due to poor service, unclear policies, and extremely rude staff.
At first, the food came quickly when we placed our first round of orders, but after that, the service slowed down dramatically. There were times when we had nothing on the table and were just sitting and waiting, even though we still had time left.
During the meal, the waiter kept repeatedly reminding us that we would be charged for any leftovers, which created a tense and unpleasant atmosphere instead of a relaxing dining experience.
We also checked with the waiter during the meal about the time limit. He told us that because there were no customers waiting, we could continue dining but no longer place new orders. We agreed. However, shortly after, he came back and charged us an extra £30 — claiming it was for one and half dishes left on the table, the food that we finished later.
There was no clear explanation or written policy about why it was £30. It felt completely random and made no sense, especially since we finished everything properly without wasting food.
To make matters worse, the male waiter’s attitude was shockingly rude and offensive. He complained that we "ate too much" (which was not true — we were 8 girls and 2 guys, and most of us didn't eat that much). His tone was disrespectful, and it made us feel judged and unwelcome.
🔔 In short: If you're thinking of trying their all-you-can-eat hotpot, be extremely cautious. Expect confusing rules, random extra charges, slow service after your first order, and a rude attitude. There are many much better places in London where you can enjoy a hotpot without being stressed out, disrespected, or...
Read moreThe true star here is the authentic Sichuan flavor experience. We tried the triple-flavor "Mercedes Pot" which showcased their broth mastery:
Classic Spicy Beef Broth: A deep, complex flavor with perfect ma la balance - the chili heat builds slowly while the Sichuan peppercorns create that signature tingly numbness. Rich enough to coat each ingredient without being greasy.
Guizhou Sour Soup (New): An exciting sour-spicy profile from fermented tomatoes and pickled chilies. The bright acidity cuts through fatty meats beautifully. Warning: highly addictive - we kept going back for more despite the tingling lips!
Mushroom Broth: Surprisingly robust umami flavor, with visible mushroom pieces in the broth. Perfect for when you need a spice break but still want flavor-packed bites.
Standout ingredients: Their premium beef slices: paper-thin yet maintains texture when cooked House-made shrimp paste: fresh, springy texture with natural sweetness Daily £1 specials (like the shredded potatoes): simple but transformed by the broths
The flavors stay true to Sichuan traditions while being accessible. Broths have noticeable depth - you can taste the long simmering time. Spice levels are authentic but not punishing.
Pro tip: Their dipping sauce station lets you customize perfectly. Try mixing sesame oil, garlic, cilantro and a spoonful of broth for maximum flavor.
Final verdict: Some of the most authentic Sichuan hot pot flavors in London. The broths alone are worth visiting for - each has distinct personality while complementing the ingredients.
