I am a local, I have been living in this dirty Brick Lane area for 5 years and I can say this is my favourite cafe in the area. I have been there plenty of times bringing friends. Their food is delicious and they have a huge choice of smoothies and drinks, also glutenfree and vegan. It is not a tourist rip off - the prices are resonable. I enjoy sitting on the terrace, it is really nice there. I am however deleting 2 stars from my previous review. One star less for the service. I came recently with 7 friends. The waiter was absolutely confused and could not get our order right. He asked me if I wanted a chocolate sauce with my savory crepe and when I asked him 5 times about sauces he kept naming sweer sauces (for savoury pancake), it was pretty annoying. He was nearly shouting at me. He also asked my friend if she wants cream and bananas for her churros...We had the feeling he did not know what he was doing. It was like he did not know what is available in the cafe. Another minus - it came out they have only one crepes making machine. Until we all got our food, for some of us it was cold before the rest got it. There should be a soluton for it. We should have received our drinks before the food. It was not the case either. I will change the review if they work on it. The food is great but the service not so good. Although the team is nice, there are so many people working there but it is...
Read moreI’m giving it 3 stars purely for the food and price, not for the service - as that was genuine and inviting.
I came here after initially looking for another breakfast place which I couldn’t find. The waitress was extremely pleasant and inviting, greeting me from the moment I walked in and offering me a place to sit with a menu.
I ordered a full English breakfast, which consisted of eggs, sausages, beans, mushrooms, tomato, hash brown, Turkey bacon and toast. The bonus about this place is that you get to choose any hot drink, which differs from many other cafes.
The cafe was not as warm as I was hoping, which was a downside for me but it was bearable. The breakfast took between 15 and 20 minutes to arrive.
I didn’t find the taste of the food too pleasant unfortunately, so I was quite disappointed that I paid £9.50 for it (£10 actually as 50p extra for soy milk in my coffee). The nicest thing for me was the toast. I wouldn’t say the food is worth the price as I’ve had nicer tasting food for cheaper.
I would definitely recommend the place if you want a coffee or good service however, as a preference, I wouldn’t recommend the...
Read moreWe really enjoyed the food in the cafe, the cafe looks quite bad from the outside and if not for the reviews and very nice pictures of the food I doubt that we would have ever went there but thanks to the previous reviews we decided to give it a chance. The food was very lovely and tasty, came in good size and didn’t cost a lot. The inside is very small and packed. The members of staff are nice and friendly. The only question we had was the amount we ended up paying as judging by what was on the menu price wise and even with raised prices on Uber we still wouldn’t end up paying as much as we did, somehow each of our bills got £5-£8 more than what it was supposed to be, and even if the service charge was placed of 10% it wouldn’t be that much. Therefore, we are not sure from where that extra money came from. That kind of ruined our experience because we payed extra for something unknown, and not just one but all of us. The waffles were tasty but I would say a little bit dry but as I mentioned previously it was delicious even though it had some minor issues...
