Greeted very pleasantly and wished a happy anniversary as I had booked a celebrate meal.
We were given a choice of table on the terrace and offered a complementary glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary, unexpected and very much appreciated.
Our waiter, Soheil, came over and welcomed us. He answered all.of our questions about the food and drink, as well as happily engaged us in general conversation. When asked, he gave his recommendations, both in terms of foods, and amounts to order.
He asked whether we would like all of the food brought together, or as it was ready. We chose to take it as it became ready, a good choice. We also asked for a 15 minute delay before the pitas and dips were brought, allowing us to enjoy our drinks (a Daiquiri and a Turkish beer).
We were assured this would be fine. Sure enough, 15 minutes later, the baba ghanoush and cod roe dips were delivered, complete with the lightest, fluffiest pitas we've ever tasted. To say that the dips were delicious is an understatement. Absolutely perfect taste and texture, brilliantly complimenting the pitas.
After a few more minutes our lamb kebabs (meze) and baby squid skewer was delivered. The kebabs were perfectly cooked. Not standard mince, full of fat, these were caramelised perfectly.on the outside.and cooked to perfection on the insde, allowing them to retain the taste of lamb, juicy but not greasy or oily. The baby squid skewer was also perfectly cooked. Taste-wise, perfection. Not over-cooked or rubbery, but just.the right texture. The accompaniments for both complemented the mains brilliantly.
Finally the Lamb meze arrived. A mind-blowing taste again. Prime lamb, not overly fatty. Cooked to perfection once more. We couldn't fault a thing.
We decided to share a desert and chose the cheesecake. What a revelation. Totally different to anticipated and well worth it.
Overall we couldn't fault the experience. Well worth every penny paid. The service was superb, the food gourmet. We cannot recommend it enough. We will...
Read moreWe were excited to try this new nearby restaurant so we recently went for an early dinner. Daniela, our server, was friendly and very helpful explaining the menu. There is a team of people who serve the food. This restaurant just opened, so it was impressive that everything ran like a well oiled machine, especially the pacing of the service. We opted for the Marcus Choice menu, so we didn't know what we were going to get. You can offer preferences when ordering the Marcus Choice. We loved the mystery of this option. There was no shortage of food. You will not leave hungry. The trio of dips - beetroot houmous, fennel tzatziki and baba ganoush were served with fresh warm pita bread. Each had a wonderful unique flavor and were delicious. The fried calamari was hot, fresh, light and crispy. I also loved the crispy, fresh and hot chips sprinkled with a generous portion of feta cheese. But the mains are where they really shined. The onglet was by far the best steak we have had in the two and half years we have lived in London. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was melt in your mouth tender. The sea bream was fresh and beautifully presented, as well as tasting amazing with the green sauce and almonds. If after all that, you still have room for dessert, the baklava with pistachio ice cream sandwich shouldn't be missed. It was like nothing I have ever had and sinful. It was also big enough to share. I love the sharing menu aspect to all the dishes. Get a group together and start the tasting adventure. I liked it so much, I'm going back tomorrow with a group of friends. I can't wait to try more of the...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment following a recent visit to your establishment, during which I had an extremely unpleasant experience with a staff member named Kelly. She is a Black woman who wears glasses, and from my understanding, is currently part of your team.
Unfortunately, Kelly's attitude and behavior were shockingly rude and dismissive. From the moment of interaction, she displayed a complete lack of professionalism, courtesy, or basic customer service skills. Her manner was abrupt, unhelpful, and frankly the rudest I have ever encountered in any hospitality setting.
It is deeply concerning that someone with such an attitude is representing your brand. This experience has made me seriously question the hiring and training standards in place at Brother Marcus. Your team should embody hospitality and respect . this interaction reflected the exact opposite.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no customer should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected when choosing to spend their time and money at your restaurant. I trust you will address this matter internally to ensure future customers are treated with the level of professionalism that should be standard in any reputable...
