I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Zizzi's in Canary Wharf, London, with my work colleagues, and I have to say, it was an experience worth talking about! We decided to stop by because we heard about their extensive menu options catering to vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diets, and they certainly did not disappoint.
I opted for the gluten free Black Truffle Salami & Mushroom pizza, which was a delightful treat. The crust was perfectly crispy, topped with truffle salami, mushrooms, crispy prosciutto, Fior di Latte mozzarella, riserva cheese, truffle-infused oil and crispy sage – a burst of flavors that truly made my tastebuds dance. My friends also raved about their meals, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. It's rare to find a place with such a wide variety accommodating different dietary needs, so kudos to Zizzi for that!
The salted caramel brownie I indulged in for dessert was absolutely divine. Rich, gooey, and perfectly sweet, it was the ideal sweet finish to my meal. The standout of our experience was Daniel, our waiter, who delivered outstanding service throughout. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure our lunchtime was nothing short of perfect. I really appreciated his recommendations and the extra care he provided.
Zizzi's has certainly established itself as the perfect lunch spot. With its relaxed atmosphere and convenient location in Canary Wharf, it's a fantastic place to unwind during the workday. And as a little bonus, they offer free pasta crisps with any drink purchase – who doesn't love a good deal?
Overall, if you're in the area and looking for quality food and top-notch service, Zizzi's is...
Read moreUnfortunately this has got to be the worst Zizzi’s I’ve visited. The restaurant was so warm it felt like a green house, the waitress who had taken our food order didn’t understand a word we were saying and we had to repeat ourselves numerous times when giving our order. Then the waitress started walking off before taking my husbands order. The waitress then took my husbands order which we then found out she put through separately. My husbands main then came at the same time as our starters and before our little girls main so he felt awful that he was eating before we were. I had to call over the manager to discuss this to which the manager said he already knew of the issue and apologised, however, why did it take for us to bring this to his attention? It would have been good customer service to have had acknowledged this and apologised before us raising the complaint. No salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese was offered we had to ask for this. It felt like our mains were just dumped on the table and that was it. We also had to ask for children’s cutlery - my daughter is 3 so clearly couldn’t eat with adult cutlery infront of her. The restaurant wasn’t busy so I could not understand the total lack of customer service or attention to detail. What made matters worst was that a tip of £5 was added to the bill after knowing what an awful service had been provided?? Every Zizzi I have visited the tip has always been optional by the customer and not already put onto the bill. In all the restaurants I visit I’ve never not paid a tip, however, on this occasion the service was so abysmal I had to ask for the manager to take this off considering he was aware...
Read moreArrived with high hopes of the new vegan menu. Greeted by incompetence throughout. Was seated for about 15 minutes (on a Thursday) before anyone bothered to take even our drinks order. When asked about any dietary requirements, we said 'vegan'. Was then offered non vegan options as suggestion for some bizzare reason. When placing our order (3 courses), the waiter had a hard time understanding how to use his tablet, to the point I had to tell him what to press (I don't work in hospitality). We ordered bruschetta, which was adequate, Rainbow Lasagne (Bland) and I had a Aubergine and pesto pizza. Predicting quite rightly the pizza would be bland, ordered an additional topping of vegan 'meatballs' and Roquito peppers. The pizza did not arrive with either pesto nor peppers on. Was still charged for the peppers (could not get this recitified, as no waiters asked us how our meal was). There was no condiments at the table to improve the complete lack of flavour. Later got Zillionaires Fudgecake, where one inexplicably had no sauce, which we had to request. Upon asking for the bill, one waiter said they would get it, but disappeared never to be seen again. Another waiter asked if we were ok (after a further 5 min of waiting), and we again asked for the bill. The waiter said he would get this, but his next priority was apparently to clean tables so left us waiting again. Considering Zizzi tacks on an additional obligatory service charge, this left a bitter taste in the mouth (in contrast to the food, which left no taste whatsoever). Will be avoiding this establishment and all other Zizzis...
