🔸A Culinary Family Celebration "Our recent visit to Chai wu for a family dinner was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. One of the staff from the restaurant Semel has recommended me this Chai wu.We were celebrating a special occasion, and Chai wu truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with such warmth and professionalism; the service was impeccably 5-star, attentive yet unobtrusive, making us feel incredibly welcome and valued throughout the evening. Every dish that arrived at our table was a culinary masterpiece. We started with their dim sum platter, which featured delicate, perfectly steamed dumplings bursting with fresh fillings – a true highlight. The crispy duck was cooked to perfection with incredibly tender meat and a wonderfully crisp skin, served with all the traditional accompaniments. We also thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant flavors of their Szechuan chicken, which had just the right amount of spice, and a truly comforting bowl of their special fried rice. The ingredients were clearly of the highest quality, and the execution of each dish showcased remarkable skill. We all had such a wonderful time, laughing and sharing delicious food in a beautiful, relaxed setting. The atmosphere at Chai wu is elegant but still very inviting for families. We're already planning our next visit and can't wait to return to savor more of their amazing menu. We wholeheartedly recommend Chai wu for anyone seeking an unforgettable, authentic, and truly premium Chinese dining experience in London – especially for family...
Read moreWell be honest, the food was really good. We spend nearly £1200 on food only among four people. However, the services were amateurs, which ruined the whole experience. Otherwise, I could give 5 stars. First of all, the table was too small for 4 people, especially when we ordered so much food. The management did nothing about it, for fine dining, we didn't expect the dishes to be put on the table bang bang bang!
You are supposed to serve soups and dim sum plater first, together with drinks.
Wait until we finished, then serve lobsters, fish dishes, vegetables etc,
Then the Miyazaki beef and Wagyu beef, and rice dish etc, and serve another around of drinks;
And then desert ;
None of those happens! So terrible, there were no spaces on the table, we don’t have time to taste and enjoy the food, everything were on table , bang bang bang together with no logics at all; we haven’t even finish the soup yet.
Your amateur management served the food like Chinatown tourists restaurant, NO fine dining experiences whatsoever.
As the guests, we have to hold the plates for you to make rooms for you and help you to serve the food.
Professional chefs with delicious food but amateur floor manager and waiting on staffs.
I rarely give bad reviews on Google maps.
I am scared to recommend it to my clients, they might judge me.
Frankly speaking, the food were good, I had take away served at the personal shopping room before Covid. But the dining experiences are disaster.
By the way, the restrooms were not...
Read moreWe’ve been customers of Chai Wu since it’s Inception some six or more years ago. Every summer we visit Chai wo at least once or twice , and Let me say we were never disappointed, this place serves one of the best Peking ducks in London. It’s expensive but the food quality, the ambience, and the courteous hosts justified the price.
The service has always been impeccable, all the tables covered with perfectly pressed bright white linen. Attentive staff making sure the napkins are neatly folded back on the table in case we left for the toilet. The food also was always meticulously prepared and perfectly seasoned.
Alas, this didn’t last for long. Today we went there for a late lunch, the food was over seasoned, no table cloth, the empty table next to us still had dirty dishes on top of it for much of our time at the restaurant! The leather bench we sat on and the marble walls were covered with dust, a lot of dust! the table was not cleaned after we were done with our mains and we had our coffee next to left over food and crumps from our main meal.
Of course it’s not acceptable for a place that charges three figures per person per meal to provide such service in such environment. I have brought my remarks to the waitress at the end of the meal. She pointed out that the dust was due to construction next door; of course that is still not acceptable, but what was more shocking is that she left us without...
