Lovely little 'greasy spoon' situated in Hackney. The service is great, with the servers being very polite and helpful. I also noticed that they greeted 'regulars' and knew their orders, which is a sign of a great community establishment. This sense of community continued, as a couple of individuals that appeared homeless came into the cafe. They too were greeted and given coffee, with one patron offering to pay for them, but management covering it. The food was also great, well cooked and not dripping in grease, and the front of house staff keep the sitting are very clean and tidy. I have marked down the atmosphere, simply due to the dated posters and menus, if this was updated it would be 5/5. Honestly a minor thing in comparison to the compassion and hospitality I witnessed.

This is a good proper Hackney cafe, not a cafè eg strong tea, soft drinks in cans. Not for the momosa bottomless brunch crowd. At 11am you can build your own breakfast, get a jacket potatoe or have a roast. Local characters. Fast service. Cash only.

Had the special breakfast here, great value, the bacon was cooked to perfection, the americano was good. Friendly staff on shift. They were quite busy on a Sunday even the chef was running food, evidence of a team that works well. Recommended 🌹

Nice & pleasant customer service, food portions good, hot meals always served up hot.

Dislike on the menu the Ham is not real? Wiltshire or cured sliced ham but only square sliced processed supermarket cheap plastic packed ham.

Cafe is always unpleasantly warm inside away from the actual winter, they have a full industrial proper air conditioning system installed but it's never ever on.

The outside tables directly outside the entrance to the cafe door, should definitely be made non-smoking, they allow smokers smoke to come into cafe with customers eating can smell & are passively swallowing the smoke due to door always open due to temperature inside.

All of the outside tables (Especially during warm/sunny weather) are always used high % (Not all but a lot) by a mix of custom of individuals making a cup of tea or coffee last for over an hour, including local down & outs which is a turn off for paying customers, plus other customers just using tables to sit down to have a chat & a cigarette, all this together on a regular basis 'From the outside looking in' as a prospective new customer doesn't visually make Dilara's very attractive at all, with customers wanting to sit outside to eat a meal, having to go elsewhere 'Turned away' due to no high standards of outside table management or frightened of approaching people to tell them to leave, who are not eating at all or have made one hot drink last for a very long & out...

Lovely staff. Good food. Good value for money. It has a large number of regular customers, most of whom eat there pretty much every day. Dilara's, before this newish build it now occupies, used to be double the size it is now. It had a much larger seating area inside. Since the new build, the owner of Dilara's has been renting out part of the space they used to occupy. In the time since Dilara's has reopened as a smaller café, next door has been a fast food shop, an ice cream shop (very briefly) and until recently a vegan eatery (Temple of Hackney). Temple of Hackney moved across the road this week. Hope Dilara's owner considers re-expanding at least it's indoor seating space. Sure they would...
