If I can give minus stars, I will give to the whole experience, atmosphere and one waiter.
The washrooms were disaster for my family and every guest here. The worst. Non hygienic place near the staff area.
Waitresses and waiters were alright. Waitresses did not smile and didn’t have a pleasant gesture due to crowded customers. They must be so tired and under pressure.
Only one waiter that decreased the whole experience here. He didn’t tell the kitchen that we ordered Tempura-Moro.
We asked for that because we saw other tables that ordered tempura and their other menus after us, they got the tempura and foods but we didn’t get the tempura yet, even though we got all foods we ordered already.
When I asked him, the one who received the order, he said it will be 5 minutes. I saw him and knew immediately that he didn’t put that in the order for sure.
We ate everything already but the tempura didn’t come yet, until we finished everything. That was not 5 minutes.
He didn’t say apologies or anything, pretend that we just ordered that. He didn’t tell the kitchen that he missed this menu so that the kitchen can make this menu for us before other tables that kept coming and ordering.
I saw more and more tables ordered tempura but we didn’t receive it until we finished everything, the tempura just came.
That was the worst.
Look at the bill, the tempura was after the tea, even though we ordered tea as the last item.
He didn’t receive that menu at that time and pretend like nothing happen, no apologies.
I tooled the photo of him in case the restaurant wanted to know who is responsible for that. Not the whole team but only him.
But of course I cannot post the photo here because it is rude. But if the restaurant wants to manage this case, contact me.
Not even one word of apologies he said it out. Only pretend like everything is normal. Didn’t take responsibility for his mistakes and manage the situation even worst because he didn’t tell the kitchen that we ordered it since the first time, but told the kitchen that we just ordered it so the tempura was the last thing and we finished every food already.
The service and problem-solving skills for this guy needs to be much improved.
Worst experience at Eat Tokyo since I have been having this brand (but not this branch) many many many many times.
Look at the bill, you will...
Read moreMe and my friend usually go to the Soho Eat Tokyo but this time we wanted to try the other branches. I was first sceptical about this (I don’t know why I just got that feeling) but at the end we ended up going. In the beginning they welcomed us, and we ordered our food which came very late compared to the Soho brunch. My friend got the chicken bento and I went for 6 plate of sushi rolls. When they served some of our food, we had to keep asking them for the other dishes or why it was taking longer than it should. We also asked for two cups of water many times and they only gave it to us after asking them the 3rd time. Once we got all of our food, my friend tried his chicken and it was bland, plus the rice he got, was very watery and uncooked (mind you we’re both Asian in an Asian restaurant). As for the sushi, the salmon didn’t taste fresh, rather frozen, and not to mention the California roll was disgusting. The rice on the sushi was uncooked and dry. THE WORST SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD. The flying fish roe didn’t taste nice and all I could taste was water and rice. The prawn tempura roll was okay but I wouldn’t get it again. The only thing I liked was the aged gyoza; even tho I can make it better and fresh at home. When we asked for the check, me and my friend paid individually and I kindly said “I don’t want to pay for the service change”, the man replied angry “why”. That was the first time a waiter got angry over service charge. If it was America, I would’ve have understood it but in this country, this isn’t the case: I only pay service charge if I see a good atmosphere, great service and great food which this restaurant failed to do. He asked me twice why I wouldn’t pay for it and I only said because “it was slow” because didn’t want to fuss about the other stuff. Once he said fine and told the other stuff about it, I paid for my check and quickly left. I could tell through their eyes that they were shaming me but I don’t care. Maybe change your services AND the quality of your food and, you’ll have me as a regular paying for that extra...
Read moreI usually do not write complaints, but I felt compelled to share my recent experience at your restaurant, which left me disappointed and frustrated.
On 1st June, after attending a theater show, my partner and I arrived at your restaurant at 9:15 PM. We had chosen your establishment based on the clearly posted information outside stating that the last reservation is at 9:30 PM and that the restaurant closes at 10:30 PM. Based on this, we felt comfortable entering and placing our order promptly at 9:30 PM.
Our food arrived at around 9:40 PM, and while we were still eating, we were abruptly asked by a waiter to pay the bill. I found this quite inappropriate, especially as we were in the middle of our meal. When I asked if the restaurant was indeed closing at 10:30 PM, the waiter confirmed that it was.
However, just five minutes later—at 9:55 PM—another staff member approached us and asked if we could leave, stating the restaurant was closing. We were still eating our main course and waiting on dessert. Understandably, my partner and I were upset by the conflicting information and the unnecessary pressure to leave.
We decided to leave by 10:05 PM and requested to have our food boxed. Instead of offering proper assistance, we were handed takeaway containers and expected to pack our own food—something we found unprofessional and discourteous. We were ultimately forced to finish our meal standing on the street, which is unacceptable.
This experience made us feel rushed, unwelcome, and ultimately misled by the information your restaurant displayed. We had looked forward to a peaceful dining experience after our evening out, and instead left feeling like we had been scammed into a half-service dinner under false pretenses.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and reflect on how late diners are treated, especially when your own signage indicates they are...
